Hamrén is (of course?) willing to step aside immediately when Rosenborg find a replacement.
Therefore I think a new coach might be in place already around Christmas. I think this would be a far better solution than making the change 1 September. |

Jan Jönsson is said to be the club's favourite replacement. The Swede has so far not extended his Stabæk contract, expiring 31 December 2010. A possible solution is that Rosenborg and Stabæk agree on a "pact"; Jönsson moves to Trondheim when Stabæk appoint their new coach.
Former Rosenborg coaches Ã…ge Hareide and Trond Sollied are both out of contract in the moment, and are shortlisted at Lerkendal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær is also a candidate after being contacted by RBK, but the Man United reserve team coach is likely to stay in England. Solskjær's adviser Jim Solbakken however said:
"It is only natural that the Norwegian club would check out Ole Gunnar’s situation. He will not be reserve team coach at Manchester United for the rest of his life."

Personally I don't think the club will allow a new temp solution where e.g. Trond Henriksen takes charge September - December 2010 before the new coach arrives; both the finishing of the domestic season and a possible Champions League group stage are too important. |

Risky - Soljskaer, but could turn out to be a very good appointment considering his playing pedigree and the potential long term
Jonsson - Would be pretty solid IMO, he knows how to win Tippeligaen and has many contacts in Sweden I guess
Hareide - Nah, don't think it would be good for us.
Sollied - I think Sollied would be welcome back, especially given his overall job and record at Heerenveen.
I agree with 2mas, ideally, we need someone before the beginning of season 2010. Other candidates, Rekdal? Deila? Eggen?
(I might have been tempted by Nilsen if Brann hadn't moved earlier.) |

RBK definitely need to get someone before the season starts - it would be strange if they switched manager half way through... _________________ thecomplexii.com - Founded 2005 |

Stabæk will allow Jönsson talks, but so far the Swede is not contacted by Rosenborg. |

Ankaragücü has agreed to terms with Trond Sollied for the club’s vacant coaching position, the Turkcell Super League team announced late Monday.
The Norwegian coach arrived in the Turkish capital Sunday and is reportedly positive about the job.
Sollied has agreed to a two-year contract worth 1.4 million euros, the Anatolia news agency reported.

Meanwhile Hareide has rejected an offer from Helsingborg and is still considering a new Örgryte contract. |

Sollied to Turkey is slightly strange, unless more money is involved I'd guess the Eredivisie is about the same level as Turkey.
I've been trying to think of potential coaches to come in but it's difficult right now to think of many. With all the Swedes at RBK right now, would Lagerback be a good appointment? Maybe Jonsson would do well in this respect also. |

Nil I'd think. Still, we have 3 months odd to name the new coach. |

Sollied rejected Ankaragücü. Instead he is the first choice of Genk:
Sollied confirms that he has been contacted.
"But I have not officially called," he told yesterday.
"It was an informal phone call to me wrists."
Whether the Noor interested?
"It's a bit fast. You know I'm not one days to decide. I wait until a real off preliminary official contact. Everything is about timing."
That appears to be reasonably good because the next few days Sollied expects a final settlement to work with Heerenveen.
"First it was not clear whether I would be free in January. The discussion about whether the club would pay me more monthly, or all at once would settle. We are close to a solution."
"Of course, an interesting club Genk," said Sollied yet.
"Very important too: they have won prizes in the past. It is a well structured organization, which may normally participate in the fourth, fifth place. I do not know what's under Vanhaezebrouck went wrong, because it surprised me that they are so low. I still live temporarily in the Netherlands and my son Bengt goes to school in Groningen. That is you in charge."

Surely Heerenveen is better than Genk/Belgium?
Sollied to RBK would solve our problems nicely though. |

Sollied tempted by RBK-job
- Yes, but it all has to do with timing.

Eggen back to RBK?
My friend once told, whilst visting a fishing exhibition in Trondheim, that he watched in disbelief as Eggen pulled up at training on a moped with his trademark "wellies" on and immediately took to the field. Would he be a good re-appointment...again!? |

According to TV2, RBK had talks with Jönsson before the Swede went on vacation. He will reveal in January whether he wants to extend his Stabæk contract.
If he won't stay at Stabæk in 2011, this could open for a move already in January. |

Outsider Troels Bech has extended his contract with Danish side Silkeborg while Trond Sollied is not interested in moving back to Norway.
Jan Joensson therefore likely is Rosenborg's first choice.
Joensson however has stated he will finish his Stabæk contract, expiring 31 December. This means Rosenborg will need an interim coach either for the full 2010 season or from 1 September; still seems unclear whether Hamrén is wanted.
This interim coach could be ..... Nils Arne Eggen! The legend is in talks with the club. |

Jonsson has done a great job with Stabaek, I like the players e.g Fernerud, Diskerud, Alanzinho, Tchoyi etc he brought there. If it's to be a caretaker until he comes in, I suppose no-one know's RBK better than Eggen. |
