The fixture list for 2006 was published earlier this December: Tough start and ending

Personally I can cope with another season without winning the league, but only if our game-play improves compared with the two last seasons. It has often been terrible watching our team playing.

But luckily things have been turned a bit around under Høgmo, and hopefully we can give Vålerenga, Brann, Lillestrøm, Viking, Start, Lyn and all other medal candidates a though battle in 2006.

Can RBK win tomorrow?

Let's hope they make a good start to the season. Very Happy

Maybe.

I think LSK is our biggest contender for the gold medal in the league.

RBK was down both 0-2 and later 1-3, but displayed great team spirit and got one well deserved point in the first match of this year's Eliteserie.

Well, I hope the quality of that match, was a herald of things to come this season. If so, it looks like you'll have your wish fulfilled, 2mas. Very Happy

A good comeback, i was watching the highlights and it was a classic match.

I think LSK will be strong too, Valerenga, Viking and SK Brann will also be tough opposition.

What a goal by Charlie Miller though for SK Brann!

It looks like a killer at first, but do you really think it's better than Koren's goal for Lillestrøm?

It's like a fat Gascoigne competing with Pele.

Daniel Braaten came in after a boring first half and immediately contributed with speed and fun play in the game at a sold out Lerkendal stadium.

We even managed to score on a penalty kick! Surprised

I half expected to wake up at that point...

How are things looking for Tromsø? They're the only other team in Norway I somewhat like...

I guess it will be a struggle to stay up for them? I haven't read too many positive news from them...

Yep, I do fear Rosenborg will be the most Northern club in the Tippeliga next season...

I'm still waiting for a team from Longyearbyen to enter the league, that would be a unique away game for the rest of the teams Cool
Kirkenes is probably the team furthest north in the Norwegian league system?

Didn't a town just next to Nordkapp have a club in division IV or so?

Kirkenes is further north BTW I thought, or is that not considered a city?

Northernmost competitive team is Qanaaq's team, which competes in Greenland's league. The league is not adopted by FIFA and is an amateur set-up, but it is a proper league.

Grise Fiord and Longyearbyen have clubs but not competitive as far as know. Longyearbyen may enter the Norwegian league someday?
Murmansk has an football club in the Russian sixth division.

Hammerfest lies more Northern than Kirkenes, which is more in the East.

If Rushfeldt goes to Tromsø I think they'll survive.

I watched this game courtesy of TV2, not a great performance from RBK but a good result.

I thought VIF had the better chances, especially straight after half-time when they hit the crossbar and post twice within minutes however RBk came back into the game well.

I think draw was fair result. VIF were closest to scoring, while RBK had the better game-play.

PS! I moved your post to this topic. One joint Tippeliga thread is enough; the activity in this forum isn't that big.

Yeah, generally it seemed like VIF had the more energetic efforts, but Rosenborg's efforts were better executed. Iversen's chance really should have gone in.

I'm particularly pleased that the ref did not react to Morten Berre's 'fall'. That guy has no credibility whatsoever...

Nom problem, that's the first time i've been able to watch a RBK game from my PC. The game unfortunately didn't live up to it's name but neverless a good point gained.

I know Braaten has been struggling a little with injury lately but i feel he could give more. He has great touch, skill and speed but lacks the finishing of someone like Iversen or Frode Johnsen.

The problem with Braaten, as far as I see it, is that unless he gets it just right, he doesn't really seem to bother following through. If the ball's a tad bit too far ahead, he'll let it go, instead of chasing it until it's lost. If he looses the ball, he rarely fights to regain it right away, but rather just stops.

But, as long as he does get things right, he fights like a tiger...is lost.
