Five of the fourteen players involved against Zenit are local players (from Trondheim/Sør-Trøndelag area). That is actually quite impressive considering the size of the population in Sør-Trøndelag (275 000). 11 of the players involved against Zenit are Norwegians.
In addition, Skjelbred (injured) and Iversen (just signed) are both from Trondheim and will certainly figure in the starting line up this season.

Champions League 1996:

AC Milan-Rosenborg 1-2
(AC Milan out of the tournament, and RBK to the 1/4-finals!)

9(!) of the 11 Rosenborg players who started the match were locals, and both goals were scored by locals! In addition, the club consisted only of Norwegian players.

Those were the days.... Smile

They became so good, 'cause they had the best coach in europe and the best tactics. The team were set up like an unit, and fought together. And of course they had the best working midfield in europe. They had also Europes best attacker, in Harald Martin Brattbakk. If you gave him one chanse he scored two goals Smile

Eggen has retired. He's 64 years old now.
