V

This match has ended up as pretty unimportant, since both Lyon and Rosenborg is secured respectively the 1st and the 3rd place in group F. Hopefully this means both teams will play with "low shoulders" and give the spectators some good Advent football.

Rosenborg will be weakened because of many injures. Our regular midfield trio is all out:

* The biggest talent in Norway, Per Ciljan Skjelbred, is out for six months because of Stoltidis' attempted assassination on Wednesday.

* Jan Gunnar Solli underwent surgery for "Gilmore's groin" on Thursday.

* Roar Strand has a problem with his thigh.

In addition to them Ørjan Berg, Miika Koppinen and Robbie Russell are äll injured too.

But the main factor is nevertheless the fact that the Norwegian league finished 29 October. RBK has not much match training in the moment, and after a long season (began in mid February with Scandinavian Royal League matches) the players are very tired, and are looking forward to three weeks of christmas holiday.

Because of this I don't have that much expectations, but as said, I hope this will end up as some good 90 minutes of football.

PS! Hopefully we will get a good draw in the UEFA Cup. Getting to the quarter finals is a pretty realistic goal in my eyes.

"Now that we have gotten to the 3rd round we might go all the way," Rosenborg coach Per-Mathias Høgmo says.

This week the snow came to Trondheim, and Rosenborg will therefore travel to France already tomorrow to be able to have some training session under decent conditions.

Lyon will by the way most likely be playing with a lot of reserves:

I really doubt Houllier will select the best players: OL - Rosenborg is right in the middle of 2 extremely important championship games and since they'll be playing with no pressure at all, I reckon most players lined-up will be those who're usually subs or who never play.

On Saturday, a few days before, we'll be playing Paris Saint Germain, who're not only one of the teams fighting for the second place but also one of the teams we usually lose to. And even more important than that, one of the most important match of the whole season on the Saturday just after Rosenborg, we're playing St Etienne in St Etienne.

OL and St Etienne absolutely hate each other, it's one furious derby that we can't lose and they're also competing for being second.

The whole Rosenborg squad was watching the game as Lyon beat Paris St. Germain 2-0 at Stade de Gerland.

Lyon will rest quite a few key players tomorrow: Juninho, Florent Malouda, Tiago, Claudio Caçapa and goalkeeper Grégory Coupet.

Coach Gérard Houllier is instead calling on his younger players to "show their great potential" on Tuesday as he prepares to rotate his squad for the visit of Rosenborg BK.

Among the youngsters poised to start are midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa, 18, and striker Karim Benzema, 17. Both have impressed for France at youth level, and Houllier, who was reluctant to send them on loan last summer, is expecting great things.

"They're very talented and I want them to continue their development here," he said.

"This is an opportunity for them to show off their great potential, and to prove to me that I've been wrong by not playing them every week."

A draw with some goals (1-1 or 2-2) is my tip for tomorrow, since both teams can play with low shoulders.

Congratulations! It was undeserved, but you won all the same. We were the moral victors. Picking up a ball that was being sent off the pitch because a player was down. You must be so ashamed.

Wiltord does not know the word 'Shame'. Wiltord does not know the words 'Fair Play'.

Unfortunately there is no explicit rule about it...

All in all, I think it wasn't an undeserved win for Lyon. They had the better gameplay in the first half and more chances overall. On the other hand, it was definitely not a deserved loss for Rosenborg. Our defensive play was good. Lago played very well. In the second half we played very well and I'm really not too sure that Braaten deserved that hands. He was more or less jammed up against the other Lyon player and his movement was restricted, so it didn't look like his hand was seeking the ball at all.

Wiltord should never have taken the ball Basma was playing towards the sideline!

Luckily the 2-1 goal did not cost us the place in the UEFA Cup...

PS! Krøvel, will you translate some of the reactions from Rosenborg?
