The Midcircle
The grass pitch on Lerkendal is 105 meters long and 70 meters wide. Measuring 7350 cubic meters, it is one of Norway's biggest.
A peculiarity: The grass pitch is uneven. Soccer pitches peak at the middle, to prevent rainwater from staying on the pitch. When upgrading Lerkendal in 2002, the grass pitch was moved closer to the Adidas stand. This was done by letting grass grow where the running tracks previously were. But one did not change the watering, and therefore a great part of the pitch slants toward the Adidas stand! |

The subsitutes bench.
Where Per Mathias Høgmo sits during the matches. A place the players fear - nobody wants to end up on the substitutes bench!
In 2002 Espen Johnsen was the player who spent the most of his time on the bench. 1260 minutes with watching the League- and Champions League matches from the sideline paid off and the next year he was promoted to main goalie.
After the running tracks were removed the people on the bench got the crowd much closer to themselves. |

Keep up the good work, Endre!
I will suggest "key" instead of "button", but it's no big deal. |

The TV platform
From this place on the main stand the matches are recorded. In other words, this is a well known angle for all the TV viewers both here in Norway and the rest of the world.
But this is not the only position they film from. NRK and TV2 both use from seven to nine when showing the matches on TV. The producer from Tv3 has more than twice as many cameras to choose from when showing the Champions League games, the exact number is 25. |

The hot dog stands
This is the new "moving around space" (forslag til "vrimleareal"? ) on the main stand. Rosenborg placed great importance on improving "customer service" when upgrading Lerkendal. Establishing a great number of hot dog stands was an important part of this.
In "the old days" you had to leave a couple of minutes before the referee gave the half time signal to be able to buy what you wanted before the second half commenced. Now buying some snacks will not hinder seeing both halves plus the injury time.
But if you are one of the people unlucky enough to be last in one of the extra long lines, you may watch the match on one of the many Televisons found in this area. |

Foajé/main entrance
This is the first thing the Rosenborg players and the opposing team see when arriving at Lerkendal.
The walls are decorated with air photgraphies of the Lerkendal area from 1933 to present.
When one has seen enough, and it is time to put on the player equipment, the doors marked "A" and "B" lead to the wardrobes. You will find the guest wardrobe on the left and the one belonging to Rosenborg on the right.
PS! The nice Mercedes belongs to Vidar Riseth. |

The Kjernen stand
On the nether half of the west stand Rosenborg's signing supporters are located. "Kjernen", meaning the core, has been moved around much since establishing the current supporters club in 1996. At first they were found on the A-area of the old stand. After that they stood on the G-section of the Adidas stand. Since the 1. july 2001 this has been their place.
Kjernen is not Norway's biggest supporter club, not the loudest either. But that may change in the future; many Trondheimers have now begun supporting the team by singing.

The Rosenborg Shop
After being located in the mall City Syd, and later in the street Munkegata in the middle of Trondheim, the Rosenborg Shop moved "home" to Lerkendal by Christmas time in 2001. The shop is found by the west stand.
Here the you will find it all; player shirts, scarves, capses, windbreakers and footballs. A great place to shop for Christmas presents;-) |

The Adidas stand was the first one built at "New" Lerkendal (the three others were built the same way), and was finished in the summer of 96. It is built on a "holy ground"; the legendary stand "Store Stå" was located here.
The stand is Norway's second biggest. The only one bigger is the new "langsiden" at Ullevaal. It houses 7457 seats and 700 "VIP"seats on a seperate part of the stand.
While the rest of the stadium is black and white, the chairs here are red. Luckily there exist plans to replace the seats. |

The away fans section.
The opposing teams supporters have since 2002 been located at "Klokkesvingen".
Thus far only the Vålerenga supporters (2003) have been able to fill the whole stand. The Lillestrøm and Brøndby supporters claim to have done the same. They should attend a "counting 101" course.
All would be hooligans should be aware that the area is paid attention to with cameras. |

I got this far with 2mas' piece on "Beto":
Without almost anyone noticing it Kvarme has played his way into a Rosenborg team in great shape this fall, and has helped fill the holes in the defense.
"He has been outstanding. Saying so might not be popular, but he became much better after leaving Norway. He is better than what I believed him to be when we got him back," Bjørn Hansen told rbkweb.com.
The veteran coach has followed his pupil through all of his carreer, and commends Kvarme's professional attitude.
24 hour pro athlete
"He pays great attention to everything he does, both in his work-outs and everything else. He is what I call a 24 hour pro athlete. A professional in all aspects," Hansen said.
Kvarme himself is much more modest when it comes to describing his role in this fall's strong Rosenborg team, which found its old self again at the end of this year's season.
"Overall it has worked well. We made a blunder in the scond half in Madrid, where we got four goals against in no time. Except from that it has worked well. I should say that the whole team has defended well, not just us four defenders."
The 33 year old came for free from the French team Bastia last january. The transfer got Kvarme back to where he started his professional carreer.
Right forward
The young right forward from Utleira made his debut at RBK in the season of 1991. The following season he did not get to play much, but that was due to retraining, Nils Arne Eggen meant that the player should become a right back. The retraining was successfull and from 93-96 he was the first choice in his position.
In the fall of '96 Kvarme wanted to try something different, and decided to use the opportunities made possible by the new Bosman law. He was more or less ready to sign for Stabæk, and looked forward to moving to Oslo, when Liverpool joined the struggle to get his signature just some days before the legendary away match against Ac Milan. Kvarme then spent some days on a tryout in England before joining RBK's training camp in france before the match against Milan.
On the European team
Just after the fabulous 2-1 victory he signed for Liverpool, and was the first player to leave RBK as a Bosman. "Beto" went straight into the team and got a smashing start at Liverpool. In the season of 97/98 the Trondheimer was chosen for the "team of the year" by the France Football magazine, which each year awards the "Golden ball".
"Bjørn Tore Kvarme is most probably the player in Norway that has gotten the least attention, at least according to his skills.
I'll finish it tomorrow. Please comment |

Both you and "haavarl" write "carreer". Isn't it "career"?

Thanks for improving my suggestions! Sometimes "jo flere kokker, jo mere søl" is not true
"On the lower section of the west stand Rosenborg's most devoting supporters of "Kjernen" (the Core) are located."
I would change that to devoted myself. Devoting is a verb tense (the gerund I believe?). Somebody else should chime in here.
Google is our friend:
"most devoted supporters" compared to "most devoting supporters".
It'd be better to remove "of" and put a comma there instead ("RBK's most devoted supporters, Kjernen"). |

Even if its plural its still taste, your taste, their taste etc. There is no such word as tomeito its spelled tomato. Otherwise you would have to spell it tomaato to make it a saying. Its the same as business, eventhough its spelled business it still comes out as buisness. _________________ Sliter
