As Basel won the Swiss league yesterday, Rosenborg sadly will be ranked just 6 of 10 in the 4th and final qualifying round for the Champions League and accordingly be unseeded in the draw.

Basel, Anderlecht, FC København, Hapoel Tel-Aviv or Sparta Praha will most likely our opponent. Could be hard.
Should perhaps mention UEFA's new prize money in the qualifiers, giving the losers of the 4th round €2.1m in addition to the €900k bonus for the place in the group stage of the Europa League. |

Some difficult games but that's the way it's going for the so called smaller leagues. Even Celtic and teams from smaller leagues that have won the European Cup will struggle I reckon. |

Good draw I think, should be able to get past them comfortable over two legs. The next round is going to be a bit trickier I suspect. |

Really looking forward to the visit of Rosenborg to Belfast-Remember the game in 1986-Think it`ll be a touch game for Linfield over the two legs |

Rosenborg is looking for revenge this year after the disappointing european campaign last year.
We should definitely be able to challenge you guys..

Aye mate, Ola By Rise should have had a red card in that game for his lunge at Davy Hanna. _________________ http://home.online.no/~sm...nfield.htm |

Linfield coach David Jeffrey:
"Our players have worked very hard in terms of their tactics and formation but make mo mistake about it, this will be a massive and formidable task for us.
"To put this task in to some sort of context - how many people out there could imagine us going to Stamford Bridge and coming away with a draw. Well, that is what Rosenborg achieved a couple of years ago and it gives you an idea of the scale and the sheer size of the task that we will face on Wednesday evening.
"A few years ago we played Dinamo Zagreb. That was massive but this Rosenborg challenge will be even greater than the Zagreb mission."

Ghanaian World Cup player Anthony Annan prepares to play for Rosenborg at Windsor Park in the Champions League.

Confirmed Rosenborg line-up with Traoré instead of Strand:
Daniel Örlund
Mikael Lustig - Kris Stadsgaard - Vadim Demidov - Mikael Dorsin
Fredrik Winsnes - Anthony Annan - Abdou Traoré
Markus Henriksen
Morten Moldskred - Steffen Iversen
I'm actually rather pleased since I always have liked Traoré, and think it's a shame that he never has had the chance of following up his great debut season. But that's both his and the club's fault. |

Setanta Africa is broadcasting!
Hopefully Annan and Traoré can bring joy to their continent. |

I will be watching on TV, as opposed to the Internet for once.
Should be interesting to see how many RBK fans travelled given the recent unrest in Belfast of late. |

Aprox. 30 have travelled from Norway. The unrest will continue tonight:
Nils Arne Eggen is confident his side will have little trouble in disposing of the Blues.
“Linfield are the best team in Northern Ireland but they are at a level that we should be able to turn over in two games.
“If we do not, then we have nothing left in the Champions League, “ said Eggen, who has watched the Blues on video.

0-0. Ok but not the result we wanted. The second leg could be tricky if they score first but at least we didn't lose. |

This was the most embarrassing game I've watched. Against Quarabah at least we had the ball and tried to do something with it. Looked like little boys today. So many passes gone astray and no ball-control. This is a fucking disgrace!!
Players to be sold:
Moldskred
Demidov
Dorsin
Winsnes
TRAORE!!!! Though he have played well before |

The RBK fans were placed in with the Linfield fans, i doubt there would have been any trouble at all, and believe they would have been treated very nicely.
It was a good game and i think we matched you very well, we have only played one pre-season game so far this season, and for anyone who follows British football will know we don't start our season until August, and that could clearly be seen with our players looking very tired.
I'm not sure will can match you over 2 matches, but i'm sure we surprised you tonight, and if anything we gained a little respect from it. _________________ http://home.online.no/~sm...nfield.htm |

The "fans" in identical, white caps among the home crowd were just club sponsors, I reckon. The (other) Rosenborg supporters were placed on the right for the main TV camera? (But on the main grand stand.)
By the way: Video "highlights" |

Yes they will have been placed in the same stand "south stand" and there would have been very few stewards placed between them the home fans. _________________ http://home.online.no/~sm...nfield.htm |

Traore frustrates me. It would appear he doesn't really have a "position" i.e doesn't score enough goals to be an attack but can't really play defence. He's not so good at passing either..so?
Konan Ya was probably a more effective player for us. |

Great draw for us right? Probably one of the better one's we could have got at this stage thoguh obviously the next round (should we get there) we will definetly need a kind draw.
At least we are guaranteed European football this winter..but hopefully it's CL. |

Actually two of the seeded clubs in the 4th round are in my eyes in danger of being knocked out before the draw:
FCK - BATE Borisov
Sparta - Lech Poznan
If one of these is out, we're in; at least among the five seeded clubs. |

I'm enjoying it. I wish I could've seen it, but I've been working a lot lately taking over some new marketing areas.
Just viewed the highlights, RBK should've won by 4 or 5 goals.
Looking forward to the next round.
