Dear neighbours,
I write in english despite that I'm swedish, less misunderstandings that way, at least by me.
Has anything; books or articles been published concerning Rosenborgs cost-efficient strategy in international football? The financial resources of domestic clubs is a major topic in the debate among swedish supporters. As a GIF Sundsvall fan (we probably share views on P-J Hansen), one is not directly concerned. But it would be fun if at least couple of domestic teams would at least make their way to at least the UEFA group stage on a regular basis.
Lots of probably unfounded assumptions about norwegian club football and their resources, or lack thereof, bounce back and forth in agitated exchanges between supporters in Sweden.
I don't expect to be served a summary by anyone who might read this, but if you have come across anything written in this topic, I would be extremely grateful for a suggestion of readings. |

Kan du ikke være snill og fortsette debatten i "RBK og ekonomi"? Det er mye enklere for begge parter og skrive på svorsk! |

For everyone not understanding Norwegian, here is a good "report" from the marketing department of RBK: Narvesen new head sponsor |

Hva tyckar ni om PeeJay Hanson anyway...?
Nils Arne Eggen's brilliant book 'GoFoten' (translated to Swedish? I doubt it...) explains the foundation on which Lokomotiv Rosenborg was built. And with the occasional exception of other Norwegian teams (Molde in CL by beating Mallorca, Vaalerenga playing Besiktas 3-3 in Istanbul), only Rosenborg has been a force to reckon with, more because of St. Nils than because of economic muscle. And in the heyday of the Norwegian national team, very few players played on Norwegian teams; and here, too, it was more the brilliance and stubbornness of Drillo, rather than economic power that lead to dominance.
It's not about muscle, it's about brains.... _________________ Svein Sjovold |
