19 year old Ghanaian footballer Kwaku Osei Oviasu has signed a new two year contract with Norway champions Rosenborg. A dynamic player whose best position is central midfield but can also play in defence, Oviasu also has a keen eye for goals.

Oviasu is a naturalized Norwegian (moved with his parents), and have been at the club for several years. |

Ahhhhhh . . . so that's what "signs a new contract" means?
I wish English was my first language so I could understand all of its nuances. Wait a cotton pick'n minute, It is, and I do!!!
Like I said, Ghana is becoming quite the exporter of young talent.

Oviasu is the same situation as with Tettey? I would not call that export from Ghana because he has learned his trade in Norway. |

Wow . . . I wonder if RBK can take just any talentless young man, like Oviasu clearly was, and turn them into a good prospect? If so the future is very bright and infinite indeed.
Maybe you should naturalize everyone who comes to Norway and load up the national team with naturalized Ghanaians, Brazilians and Italians. It could be a good way to return to the World Cup, you never know.

Hirschfeld to VIF?
They might be stronger this year. |

The big game of the first weekend of the Norwegian season sees last year's runners-up Molde entertain local rivals Rosenborg, the side that marched to the 2009 title and are widely expected to do so again. Rosenborg clinched their 21st Norwegian championship with a 2-0 win at Molde's Aker Stadion, and though they have since lost midfielder Marek Sapara, Fredrik Winsnes could prove a more than adequate replacement for coach Erik Hamrén. The latter, meanwhile, will coach Rosenborg and Sweden in tandem before focusing on the Sweden post full-time from 1 August. "I see no difficulty in doing both jobs for a short period," he said. Molde sold striker Mame Biram Diouf to Manchester United FC, yet should still be among Rosenborg's main challengers along with Stabæk IF, Viking FK, Odd Grenland and Tromsø IL.

Last year's two top finishers face each other in Sunday's late match. Rosenborg won last season's title by 13 points. It was Rosenborg's 17th title in 22 years, and if the Troillongan can replicate the team's last meeting, a 2-0 Rosenborg win at Molde, we will have an early idea of what's in store for 2010. Molde did get a draw at Rosenborg last season, though a lot of good that did.

Good start. Prica scoring as usual but Lustig.
Early days but it's clear MFK will miss Diouf. |

Our defense looked pretty shaky against Start.
Several . . . too many in fact, break aways given up by our team. Could've been a lot worse than a tie. _________________ www.chicago-fire.com

Yeah, our defense was really poor, both Stadsgaard and Winsnes in the midfield had a bad day..
Erik Hamrén was furious after the match!

Tough test tonight against VIF. MFK and Stabaek both starting slowly so I guess we accept the Start result and even a draw tonight. A win would be better though. |

Forgot Hirschfeld playing for VIF too, VIF seem to have a strong team this year. Hopefully 0-1, Prica snatching a goal. |

Brann tonight at Lerkendal, 15 minutes until kick-off. Wish I could be there as it should be a great game.
I'm predicting 3-1 RBK. |

Ok, 1 goal out but we'll still take 3-0.
Hamren will leave us in good shape for sure but to beat Brann this way is nice. On paper, they look an ok side and might be challengers so already this is an important win.
Bring on Aalesund. |

Annan's thoughts on the Haugesund match today:
"I think it gonna be difficult. For each team playing against Rosenborg, it is a very crucial game for them: They work extra, extra hard. It will not be an easy game, and I think we have to work very hard. Playing Viking, VÃ¥lerenga and other big teams are often easier for us. So we have to be determined and focused. If we are, I think we gonna have a good result." |

0:0 in Haugesund, in my opinion too many matches without goals But we must see Haugesund is the best one of the new teams in this season. Do we have only one striker in the team? When Rade plays - it means win, when he is not ok - no goal of RBK. _________________ http://www.fb.com/norskyfotbal |

Well, the turf in Haugesund is the worst one in the league, and FKH actually haven't lost at home since some time last season, so that should be a factor taken into consideration for this match. But of course, three 0-0-matches out of the last four aint good, and not four 0-0 matches so far in the season eighter.
But at lest we're still undefeated this season to. And 5 points really aint that big a gap. _________________ Det er bedre å stupe ut i smørøyet enn å gå rundt grøten! |

Nice move with placing Winsnes on the right and Skjelbred on the left (latter has been tryed earlier on too): One goal each.
It is crucial that even other than Henriksen is able to score from the midfield! |

Yeah, I wasn't sure Winsnes coming back was a good thing and I posted something similar here. However, the fact he's back, playing well and knows Eggen very well from his previous spell at the club is a good thing.
Do you think we need another midfielder if Winsnes/PCS play on the wings? Maybe a Sapara like playmaker?
I suppose Annan will be back for the Champions League, assuming he doesn't perform super well at the World Cup and leaves for a huge club. |
