You won't be overrun, but it will not be easy for you to go through, though. |

Easy??
No coach, president or owner of a club (unlike ours), with the head on his shoulders, could think about the idea of having an easy match and/or qualification (we all saw results such as Liechtenstein - Portugal 2-2, Germany - Letonia 1-1, etc). There are some exceptions like, Rapid Bucharest - St.Julia from Andorra (first qualification round in the UEFA-Cup, this year)...
Even if we were Real Madrid or Chelsea (regarding the big names which are playing for these clubs), we wouldn't have had an easy task against you or Valerenga, and vice-versa.
There are too many factors which can decide the winner of a qualification round: (for many chases we could have beaten you but in other many chases you could have beaten us at a much higher score). The factors I'm thinking about are:
- physical and mental form of the players....
- key-players missing (injuries or bans)
- teamwork (also depends on the number of new players for the squad or a new system/tactic introduced by the coach - which is not totally understood by the players)
- morale of the team (including the whole staff, not only the players)
- maturity (not to underestimate and not overestimate the opponent) and experience.
- valour of the players (whithout any, hardly can you achieve performance)
- finances (for keeping those players at your club + other investements, which should help, evolving the club and keeping the players fit)
- passion for the club your playing or working for (many guys are mercenaries, which are following the money and not the hearth to play/work! Ex: Ailton for Schalke04 - last season)....
- .....
These things which, I think, should belong to a professional squad are not written in order of importance...
Maybe you could give new ideas (because there should be hundreds of them)... And I think this could turn out as a new, fine discussion.. _________________ Yup, mein Name ist Harald, bin Siebenbürger Sachse, Mitglied der Lutherischen Kirche (hmmm, ich habe bislang alles gemeinsam wie die Norweger!) Thank you for beating arrogant VÃ¥lerenga, who was playing with 3 youth players and a lot of reserves in a kind of a demostration against the league fixtures set up by the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF). |

I agree. I am really not trying to take the glory away from Steaua - you would have knocked out VÃ¥lerenga even if they had played their best 11. |

thats very true and easy to back up with statistics. vif are in the lead, but they get all their points from the easier teams. they always lose against the better ones. they knew they were going to lose anyways so they used their youth team. if they used their "best" team they would have lost anyways and their morale and spirits would have sunk. so they used youth players to have an exuse. |

If only their bitching would end some time soon, but I doubt it. Congratulations Steaua for beating the shitbricks fair and square!

yes it does. when they meet the best teams they rarely win, while when they meet the not so good teams they always get three points.
against the good teams:
22 mai: Lillestrøm-Vålerenga 2-1
30 mai: VÃ¥lerenga-Start 1-1
12 juni: Lyn-VÃ¥lerenga 1-1
18 juni: VÃ¥lerenga-Viking 1-2
all their remaining matches are against the good teams + rbk and odd who has gotten good lately. therefore vif will not win anything this year. |

I think Vålerenga had taken Steaua if they were playing with players like Grindheim, Iversen, Gashi, Arason, Wælher Johnsen, DF Holm, Holm.... Steaua played against norwegian 3 division team last night.. not Vålerenga
just the cold facts |

Last night in the UEFA Cup, Bucharest became the first city in Europe to have 3 teams qualified to the group stage after these matches:
FC Steaua Bucharest - Vaalerenga 3-1 (3-0 in Norway)
Rapid Bucharest - Feyenoord 1-0 (1-1 in the Netherlands)
Everton - Dinamo Bucharest 1-0 (1-5 in Romania)
I also would like to wish RBK the best of luck in their struggle to avoid relegation. And please, please, kick Real Madrid's behind in the CL... _________________ Steaua rulz! |

Thanks! We'll do our best! Good luck to you too, and thanks for crushing VÃ¥lerenga!
I won't stake my money on it, but I will not be surprised if Steaua draw Viking Stavanger or Tromsø on Tuesday. If so, welcome back to Norway! |

STEAUA Bucharest will play in group C (UEFA Cup Group Stage) against:
Hertha Berlin (Germany) - away
RC Lens (France) - home
Sampdoria (Italy) - away
Halmstad BK (Sweden) - home
(hmmm, no teams from Norway )
Taking into account that the first 3 teams will qualify, what do you think Steaua's chances are? _________________ Steaua rulz! |

Sampdoria and Hertha BSC are the two big names, but Lens shouldn't be underestimated. They had a good run in the Intertoto Cup. Good luck! |

Maccabi Petah Tikva - Palermo (1-2) (Ramat Gan)
Lokomotiv Moscow - Espanol (0-1)
1) Palermo points: 3 diff: +1
2) Espanol points: 3 diff: +1
3) Brondby points: 0 diff: 0
4) Lokomotiv points: 0 diff: -1
5) MP. Tikva points: 0 diff: -1
Well I didn't expect for more than that, though Maccabi Petah Tikva played way better than Palermo and we need points so we could use 2 teams in the CL Qualifiers stage next year. VAMoS HAiFA |
