In Hungary Rosenborg is a famous team, but the people underrate. A lot of people like Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern München etc. but the smaller team is there a few fans. The media hardly write the norwegian championship Sad Rosenborg news are there always, when the team is play in Champions League.

in ireland, not much is known about rosenborg, and some people often find it weird why i have such a strong feeling towards the club.
however there are a good amount of irish fans who respect rosenborg, have they have competed against irish clubs in europe. hopefully one day an irish player will wear the famous rbk shirt

In Romania, Rosenborg in famous because they eliminated Steaua Bucharest some years ago from the Champions League. So you might say that the teams from Bucharest except Steaua are die hard Rosenborg supporters. RBK

In Belgium most people know Rosenborg from either eliminating Club Brugge out of the Ch.League qualifiers about 10 years ago, or from Trond Sollied who came to Belgium after having coached RBK. Most people will know the name Rosenborg from the many European games, though not many people really know a lot about the club. I did often get weird looks when saying my favourite foreign team is Rosenborg.

In England, Rosenborg are never mentioned, although they've been in the news recently after playing Chelsea in the Champions League and selling Stoor to Fulham.

In my opinion it seems as if most english supporters have no knowledge about other footballing leagues than their own (except the bigger teams e.g. Real, Barcelona etc). I've read some english sites recently (finding information about Stoor and Kenny Cooper) and it's rare to find english fans who have a lot of knowledge of european football. I might have just run into a few stereotypes.

I've been constantly laughed at every time I brought up I'm a RBK fan.

Basically Rosenborg is perceived as "generic scandinavian team we [Italian supporters] would love to face in whatever European Cup round, as it would mean we go through without sweating too much"

Every single Rosenborg win, even the big ones, even during very positive CL campaigns, were reported as Major Upsets, with journalists almost not believing a Norwegian team could do that well without it being a fluke.

To the general audience, RBK is still a team made of 11 tall and strong blond men, most likely part-time football players and part-time woodsmen, who will try to win a game with sheer strength and no technique.

That confirm the way I think of italian footballfans... they don't know too much.

Well, I guess it goes both ways. For instance, we in Norway look at italian football as bedtime. All they do is lay down on the field and look hurt, then suddenly jump up again 10 seconds later.

some people think my fascination with rosenborg is weird but sure we are all entitled to do/support what we want.

i have absolutely no interest in serie a.way to full of gamesmanship and far too defensive.dont get me wrong some a the players are class and italy does boast some of the worlds best coaches.

dont want to sound like we are ganging up on you though loki Very Happy

Oh don't worry...

I don't even bother to watch Serie A highlights at times... let alone an entire match.

There's a reason if, despite having the chance to watch "the best league in the world" (as we pompously use(d) to call Serie A) I'd rather pay and watch 3-4 TL matches (and the Odd Wink AdeccoLiga match here and there).

A league some friends/experts defined as "one of these leagues where people can't trap a ball to save their life and it's all kick-and-run, but mostly kick at opponents' ankles"

The average level of Serie A has dramatically dropped over the last few years, and the games have gotten really really boring.

Add the unnecessary drama before, during and after the games, the idiotic supporters, the hooligans, the asinine "journalism" feeding the aforementioned idiots...

Nope... I stopped actually caring back in 1997, and fantasy football is the only reason I still follow Serie A with some sort of interest.

So, flame away "my" league anytime Wink
