We have a tradition of playing attack-minded football in the Champions League, but yesterday we had to focus on the defensive part because we are really, really bad this year. We have not been so bad in 20 years!
The technique and passing skill of our players sucked yesterday, but I think we will surprise you in two weeks! We can perform like night and day..
And by the way, your way of playing football is not very good, the ball is moving too slow forward! |

Rosenborg has always been better at home. We managed to come back when 15000 Romanians were singing against us. Do you think Steua wil do as well when 18-20000 Norwegians are singing against you? _________________ "Engang en ret forvoven Jyde

Yeah ok, assuming 18-20000 Norwegians can be bothered...
Rather, only Kjernen will be actively singing. But the rest of the crowd will definitely be humming along to the tune... _________________ "Engang en ret forvoven Jyde

Quote: | We lost 1-2 to PSV last year (they were VERY good...), but you have to go all the way back to 2001 to find our next defeat at Lerkendal Stadium (RBK-Porto 1-2). In the meantime, we have been undefeated at home in Europe:
2001
RBK-FC Porto 1-2
RBK-Juventus 1-1
RBK-Celtic 2-0
2002
RBK-Brøndby 1-0 (3rd round CL qualification)
RBK-Inter Milan 2-2
RBK-Lyon 1-1
RBK-Ajax 0-0
2003
RBK-Bohemians 4-0 (2nd round CL qualification)
RBK-Deportivo L.C. 0-0 (3rd round)
RBK-Ventspils 6-0 (UEFA-cup, 1st round)
RBK-Red Star Belgrade 0-0 (UEFA-cup, 2nd round)
RBK-Benfica 2-1 (UEFA-cup, 3rd round)
2004
RBK-Sheriff Tiraspol 2-1 (2nd round CL qualification)
RBK-Maccabi Haifa 2-1 (3rd round)
RBK-Panathinaikos 2-2
RBK-Arsenal 1-1
RBK-PSV Eindhoven 1-2 |
This list isn't really that impressing. We have beaten Haifa,Tiraspol,Benfica,Ventspils,Bohemians, Brøndby and Celtic since 2001. Draws are fine, but not something you brag about.
In addition, from 2001-2004 we rarely lost at Lerkendal. Nowadays, we lose against Norwegian First Division sides. Of course, we can hope that Høgmo turns things around very fast, but I believe Steaua still have a fair change of knocking us out of the champions league. |

What surprises me is that Steaua fans come here and whine about how RBK only defended and didnt play football....? You guys must really lack elementary football knowledge.... A team which plays away in the first leg of a qualifier against a team of equall of even higher quality, will NOT concentrate on scoring goals rather than defending.... You may point your finger all you want, and even I will admit they didnt play well, but tactically RBK put on a good performance... If you cant see that than you are either blinded by your love for your team or just plain stupid....
I do not know why you are so cocky heading into the second leg when it is in fact RBK who is closer to the group stages.... Wether RBK plays any good in the group stages or not is besides the point, your team is far from superior as you so boldly claim.... You guys played at home and couldnt win... Blaim luck all you want, your offence still suck.... My grandmother could have scored on those chances..... Instead of of ranting here about how RBK is a disgrace to football I would encourage you to get your team to practice hitting target....
Wake up and smell the coffee... WE went on the pitch wednesday looking for a draw and maybe an away goal... We got both, what did you get ? _________________ Real people do real things...

I'm not sure that I agree... the away-goal rule makes it VERY important to score away! If we played the first leg at Lerkendal, it would have been crucial to prevent the opponent from scoring...! 0-0 is a MUCH better result at home than 1-1... |

Ahmm, what about Susperia, havn't heard of them for a while, have they quit??
To be on-topic: Rosenborg - Steaua score, will be also a draw... depends now which team will be favoured _________________ Yup, mein Name ist Harald, bin Siebenbürger Sachse, Mitglied der Lutherischen Kirche (hmmm, ich habe bislang alles gemeinsam wie die Norweger!) I believe the truth is somewhere in the middle. In the the european cup you play more defensively away, but you still try to get away goals. And playing at home is a big advantage, so you can play more attack-minded. Anyway, you have to be dynamic and change the tactics after the aggregate and situation.
Hehe.. Lerkendal is our stadium |

I agree to the most of the parts you've said, but I have to refuse the text above!!!
How could RBK have a good tactic when Steaua had so many chances to score??
They weren't able to kick the ball into the net, OK (but that's our players fault, not your tactics), and again... why did the romanian team had so many chances to score??? Because of your totally disorganised tactics...
I think, every rational guy will confirm my words....
P.S. I still wait from you some news about SUSPERIA!!!!
I beg my pardon about the confusion of "Lerkendal". It was ment to be a joke what I've said before , and anyway, at the first sight I thought it's a city Sorry again.... _________________ Yup, mein Name ist Harald, bin Siebenbürger Sachse, Mitglied der Lutherischen Kirche (hmmm, ich habe bislang alles gemeinsam wie die Norweger!) Compared with Rosenborg's results this season the new tactic for the match against Steaua paid off. Relatively speaking, you're right. It wasn't exactly a wall behind there, but it gave us a better result than the old tactic would have done (I guess).
With two more weeks of training, the new tactic will be a lot better, but we won't see the final result before next season. |

[quote="fubar"].... In the meantime, we have been undefeated at home in Europe:
I just want to make a small addition to what "Henning" said:
Maybe Steaua will break your great "home-performance", maybe not!! But someday, someone will beat you on your homeground...
So Fubar, you don't have to play the great conqueror to any of us (because it was Rosenborg and not YOU, who made this oustanding HOME-performance).... _________________ Yup, mein Name ist Harald, bin Siebenbürger Sachse, Mitglied der Lutherischen Kirche (hmmm, ich habe bislang alles gemeinsam wie die Norweger!) I still can't believe how many goal-scoring chances we missed...
After Helstad scored that goal I remembered another frustrating moment against a norvegian team: the draw in Oslo (NOR-ROM) which eventually kept us away from EURO 2004. If we fail to qualify it would so disappointing for us because we really had this game in our hands. I think RBK's experience showed in this game more than anything else. We still have a shot but must play better than ever to outplay and eliminate Rosenborg on their home ground. I would say we have about 30-40% chances to go through, but I still consider Steaua to be the better team at this moment. However, this is completely irrelavant if we can't manage to prove it on the pitch be putting that damn ball into the net.
For all the dinamu fans who got lost and landed here: this is forum in which fans of Champions League teams discuss their matches. Can't you find the Omonia Nicosia forum? And btw, it would not be a good idea to go and support your pathetic team in Cyprus. You may not return in one piece...

I know you previously lost 1-5, now you loose 2-5. Are all your matches from Norway's first division ending up with this type of "school yard" results? Let's hope you continue your "winning streak" against Steaua... _________________ Steaua rulz! |

I saw some posts here ... about RBK's experience in Champions League. I have to say that the result in Bucharest wasn't because of your experience. Maybe u can say it was because of our experience that doesn't exists. The result was because of LUCK and i don't think that someone else have other opinion. We could have 3-0 at the half-time. And about 4-0 or 5-0 in the second. But it was 1-1 in the end. We can beat u home nothing it's imposible.

We can and i am sure we will score 2 goals in Trodheim and we will have a clean sheet .
We've won today 4-0 against a good team in Romania, FC National ( i don't think u know it )

I can't belive your "performance"
I have to say about our away "performance" : We haven't scored an away goal in Europa 5 games. I hope that this will end now _________________ Fan of Steaua Bucharest !!! |

the best team won. get over it. you will have to cope with the fact that steaua never will be good enough for the champions league. after all, its called the champions league, not "the tournament where talentless romainans get to play". |
