Rosenborg really looked like a bottom Norwegian league team, but have the players to get results even when they really don't deserve it like today.
Perhaps RBK's play will be more settled in their new formation by the next leg. Today it was only shoving of the ball. _________________ SK BRANN |

Is it just me, or does Romanian look a lot like Italian? I know Romanian is a latin language, but is there a greater connection to modern Italian as well?
Just a bit of curiosity there. Otherwise I'd be happy if you kept it Anglaise...
And welcome to Trondheim on the 23rd, btw... you're in for a rough ride _________________ "Engang en ret forvoven Jyde

as a conclusion: steaua had very big opportunities but in football only the goals count. sTEAUA is usually a very lucky team so you need to be carefull in the second leg, because you have a big advantage after scoring an away goal so it would be a shame to let go of that advantage, right.? _________________ DINAMO UBER ALLES! |

Right
BTW -- Even some of the Norwegian press are running the headling that "Rosenborg robbed Steaua." So we're well aware of the dangers of your team, and the weaknesses we showed last night. But given two weeks of drills with our new coach and a home game I think we have a slight upper hand.
Here's to an exciting return match! |

Sorry ucluj, but didn´t you say Banel Nicolita was so damn good? I tried too see what he manged to do yesterday, and I must say I´m not very impressed. I didn´t see him do anything but shoot 20 metres over our goal from a distance of 60metres. Well, he did also miss yhe goal on a header from 2 metres distance. He wasn´t that good as you said... He didn´t impress me, and I think there are more people that agrree with me on this. However, it could be he had a bad day at work... _________________ "Vi har satt oss i en brukbar posisjon"

Maybe he did, but when some people say that RBK has no chance to win because of Nicolita, you give pretty high expectations... Don´t you think? That´s my point... I think he played an ok match, but he´s not a player that beats RBK alone _________________ "Vi har satt oss i en brukbar posisjon"

Could we expect an opening concert of Dimmu Borgir before the second leg?? hell, lets buy him even if we dont get through. Can't you still play UEFA cup even when you've played UCL quals under this seasons new rules? _________________ Profesjonell revolusjonær

That would be... very unlike Rosenborg, which retains a typically working-class image and leans towards locally produced rock music for entertainment. Could have been really cool though... Are Blackmetal bands like Dimmu Borgir well known in Romania?

Yeah, there are lots of black metal lovers here (many of them wearing Dimu t-shirts).
I watched a local football show yesterday night and everybody said Steaua was far better than RBK. Steaua's leader, Gigi Becali, went even further. He is willing to bet MILLIONS OF DOLLARS that Steaua will crush RBK in Norway. _________________ Steaua rulz! |

Might be, might be. But what good did it do? You didn't win.
We have never had the best skilled, top-class players in Rosenborg.
However, this is a fact: We now have a good chance to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League for the 10th time in 11 years. Definitely not due to skills alone, but on the other hand, not due to luck alone either.
Individual skills can only take you so far. You also need good tactics, good systems, good preparations. Experience does help. And a bit of luck is always welcome.
For this game, we knew we would get one good opportunity during the evening. We got it. And we took it. And then it doesn't matter what team had the most skilled players. |

You just stand in the way of quality football. Just like Chelsea did against FC Barcelona. People like to watch a show, not just clumsy players defending...
And your team has the aggregate advantage now and believe me, you will be defending... _________________ Steaua rulz! |

well, it doesn't matter much what he thinks or hopes, does it?
Rosenborg didn't play very well last night, and our perfomance has been up and down (mostly down) during the last year or so... But Steaua has to win on Lerkendal Stadium to beat us (or draw 2-2 or better), and we don't lose very often at home in Champions League/UEFA-cup.
We lost 1-2 to PSV last year (they were VERY good...), but you have to go all the way back to 2001 to find our next defeat at Lerkendal Stadium (RBK-Porto 1-2). In the meantime, we have been undefeated at home in Europe:
2001
RBK-FC Porto 1-2
RBK-Juventus 1-1
RBK-Celtic 2-0
2002
RBK-Brøndby 1-0 (3rd round CL qualification)
RBK-Inter Milan 2-2
RBK-Lyon 1-1
RBK-Ajax 0-0
2003
RBK-Bohemians 4-0 (2nd round CL qualification)
RBK-Deportivo L.C. 0-0 (3rd round)
RBK-Ventspils 6-0 (UEFA-cup, 1st round)
RBK-Red Star Belgrade 0-0 (UEFA-cup, 2nd round)
RBK-Benfica 2-1 (UEFA-cup, 3rd round)
2004
RBK-Sheriff Tiraspol 2-1 (2nd round CL qualification)
RBK-Maccabi Haifa 2-1 (3rd round)
RBK-Panathinaikos 2-2
RBK-Arsenal 1-1
RBK-PSV Eindhoven 1-2 |

You had 9 good chances, we had maybe 2. That says it all: you were better. But it didn't matter ...
It is worth considering, also, that we haven't been this bad for many years. This season has been rotten. The game was the first with our new coach; already, we saw improvements. Before the next game he will have more time (more than two days ...) to settle things the way he want. It is not unreasonable to expect a better RBK team in the next game.
And: traditionally we're very hard to beat at Lerkendal. Few European teams have managed that for the past years. Last year, PSV Eindhoven managed to beat us, but that's not the normal. Panathinaikos and Arsenal didn't beat us. During the 2002-2003 season, Lyon, Ajax and Inter Milan didn't beat us. The season before, Celtic and Juventus didn't beat us (tough Porto did). And in 2000-2001, Bayern Munich, Paris St Germain and Helsinki all left with less than three points.
We are definitely not a big European team, but we are definitely not easy to meet at home.
I am not saying that we are guaranteed to qualify, but you might get it a bit harder than expected. And you HAVE to score more than one goal. |

Not untrue. We did suck in the offensive part. Still, you realize that we scored a goal? The way it happened isn't important in football. A goal is a goal.
And if you DON'T score in the next game, well, then you're out. So of course we'll be defending ourselves ... |
