I have a feeling this will be decided on penalties.
Penalty shootouts are quite new in Norwegian football; were rematches in the cup until 1999(?). We have lost twice against lower level sides, Hødd and Kristiansund, in the cup.
If my feeling becomes reality, I think NAC will have a big advantage in the first ever penalty shootout at Lerkendal. Steffen Iversen has been the only safe man from 11 m the last seasons, and now he is injured. Before he returned in 2006, we missed on 13 of 18 penalties.
PS! No. 8 is Konan (Ivory Coast international). |

Tough result but on the other hand we can overcome this at home. We have had more games at home where we scored multiple goals, and without underestimating NAC I think we can do it again. To keep a clean sheet ourselves will be key, if NAC scores one in Lerkendal then I am afraid it will be over. We need to score first and then put pressure on them for a second goal, but meanwhile making sure they cannot score on the counter. That will be the tough part: choosing for the attack while keeping the 0 at the scoreboards ourselves as well.
I still believe we can do it though. The players must realise what is at stake, and just attack the NAC goal from the first minutes on.
Aan de fans van NAC: proficiat met een onverwachts maar zeer mooi resultaat. Hoeveel fans van NAC reizen volgende week naar Trondheim? _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Between 200 and 300 is my estimation now. Difficult to say. We were able to byt tickets after the game yesterday, but don't know how many are sold already. |

Before this we have a difficult away match in Stavanger on Wednesday. Viking lost 2-0 on Lerkendal in June, but usually give us much more trouble when they play at home.
We have injury concerns for these two matches. Yssouf Koné (thigh) will be out for sure, and has played his last ever match for Rosenborg; leaves for Cluj 1 August.
Steffen Iversen (thigh) might be fit for fight in time for either of these games. Noone knows in the moment.

Actually every draw in the league in 1987 were decided on penalty shootouts. The winner recieved some kind of bonus point which had more value than goal difference if two or more clubs ended at same points on the final table. |

I totally forgot about this game
I believe RBK will make it to the UEFA Cup though without an away goal its going to be tough, but hey you can always count on your team to score in the last minute _________________ ~GA

live.tv2.no streams the match from TV2 Sport. "Ticket" for 99 NOK or 159 NOK for all matches in a month.
Maybe also some dutch channel shows it, don't know. |

Even the highlights of the game in Breda were not on TV.
Going to be a nice summer weekend I see |

Romo, I guess you will take your photo camera to Norway and shoot all lovely sights?
Don't forget about this topic: http://rbkweb.no/forum/vi...a3d2cc49d0 ; feel free to add your own photographs
And Rangers fan, probably some illegal streams will be available for free, but if you want to be absolutely sure then buying that ticket is the best option. I did that often before to watch RBK, and the quality of those streams is simply excellent, well worth its money (a match ticket only costs like 9 euro which should be 6 GBP or so). You won't find any better streaming than that.
You can try to find free streams through a piracy site, but often those schedules are subject to change till the last moment and of dodgy quality. So to be sure, I'd say buying the TV2.no ticket is best option. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Kees Kwakman was starstrucked on Saturday:
"Ik kende de spelers van Rosenborg alleen van de Playstation. Dan is het toch wat onwerkelijk om ze opeens in levende lijve te zien. Dit duel zal me zeker voor altijd bij blijven."
‘Ik kende ze alleen van de Playstation’
Eurosport.com spreads the word:
"I only knew the Rosenborg players from my Playstation. I must admit that it was unreal to see them in the flesh. This match will certainly stay in my memory forever."

Well, was his debut game, he was bought from a second division club. He will be absoluty be amazed when we reach the UEFA Cup.
The club expect 100 fans to travel to Trondheim, but it is difficult to estimate because we can buy tickets at the day of the match and almost everybody is travelling on their own.
Hoped some more would travel to be honest.
Iversen will be fit for sunday ans Stoor wil be stil at RBK? And your goalkeeper is injured according to the Dutch papers?
NAC Breda will be the same I think, Feher is back but will be on the bench likely. |

Thought Stoor would play against Viking, but Strand was chosen since Stoor had been in London negotiating his Fulham contract. Guess Strand is picked also on Sunday, since his attacking qualities is good to have at home.
The 1st half yesterday was good, and all 11 in the starting line-up will probably get a new chance. But Konan didn't impress me and I would have picked Pelu instead:
Alexander Lund Hansen
Roar Strand - Andreas Nordvik - Alejandro Lago - Roy Miller
Marek Sapara - Alexander Tettey - Vadim Demidov - Per Skjelbred
John Pelu - Steffen Iversen |

I think we can do it, we might need extra-time/penalties though. |

Confirmed Rosenborg line-up:
Alexander Lund Hansen
Fredrik Stoor - Andreas Nordvik - Alejandro Lago - Roy Miller
Marek Sapara - Alexander Tettey - Vadim Demidov - Per Skjelbred
Steffen Iversen - Didier Konan
It's good to have Demidov back on the midfield. He played good (maybe not really great) against Viking, and let Tettey use his qualities in the attacking phase of the play.
Iversen is struggling with his thigh, but started against Viking and also plays tomorrow. We missed him in front of goal in Breda, when we almost created nothing: Video highlights
Strand's ancle doesn't stand for three matches in 8 days, so he's on the bench. Not a problem since Stoor is a far better right back in my opinion.
Rune Jarstein (elbow), Kris Stadsgaard (knee), Abdou Traoré (ancle), Yssouf Koné (thigh), Juska Savolainen (foot) og Michael Jamtfall (knee) are all still injured. |

Safely through, 2-0. I thought NAC looked not at full fitness as expected, we played reasonably well although there will be tougher matches ahead.
John Pelu looked very good. Nice for Stoor to give us a parting gift also. |

Champions of Europe 2008
Rosenborg BK booked their place in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round as they became Norway's first UEFA Intertoto Cup winners at the expense of NAC Breda.

Good job. Maybe you will play against Romanian teams in the UEFA Cup. We've got loads of them qualified (5 teams!) so there are big chances that you will play against them. _________________ www.CFRonline.ro

I must say that, given the injuries and such, I was afraid to see us go out. But this victory feels great. With the next round an easy ride in theory (we are seeded and face a weaker team for sure) we will probably make the group stages and then it becomes really interesting financially and in terms of games. Thanks to the win against NAC we are not facing a year without European football, and hopefully this win can boost our confidence in the league.

And we are back in Breda. Great trip, only bad thing was tyhe very poor preformance of our team. No spirit, no fittnes, only 1 good chance, very sad to be honest.
Your team looked a lot stronger than in Breda. number 22, 15 and of course Iversen improved your team a lot.
But Trondheim was lovely, Oslo was very nice. Visited the Valerenga-Tromso game on Monday which was quite ok.
Good luck in your fortcoming matches. |
