Has any transfer fee been mentioned in Romania?
I expect him to get about four times the salary in Rosenborg after tax.
Micke Dorsin gets €22,500 a month and a sign-on-fee of €200,000. The taxes in Transylvania are very "polite".

But the latest news is that the agent making the transfer, rejects the news in Norway telling Hirschfeld already has signed for Cluj. The clubs have more or less agreed on a transfer, but Hirschfeld still has not made his decision. |

No transfer fee has been mentioned, as the club president mentioned it's confidential. Anyway, he states that Lars signed for a 4 year period, and he will soon arrive to Cluj.
The press mentioned a sum of 1.2mil euro, but this is only an asumption that they made, more than a month ago when they found out that we're interested in transfering Lars, so it's nothing official.
Our players will gather on the 7th or 8th, to start trainings for the 2nd part of the league, so we should know by then if anything about this transfer is true or not. Anyway, I would be really happy if Lars will show up in Cluj in the next few days. |

Read this.

That was a misquote. The club president said the club is hoping for a 4 year deal. |

So you would want Lars to stay here as a backup for years. |

I think 2mas meant to say that he would have liked Lars to stay at Rosenborg as the first choice keeper for years, but since he hesitated to sign a new deal, Rosenborg went out and got Jarstein.
Therefore Lars is now a surplus at Lerkendal, and the best for both player and club is that he leaves. |

Yep, but as things turn out, getting Jarstein is the best for the future. He's younger and have a bigger potential. He sadly is not as stable as Lars yet. |

So apparently Lars didn't sign yet for Cluj? It would be a bit weird to go to Romania if he wanted to go back to North America in fact... Even though purely in terms of football the move would not be bad, the Romanian league is improving rapidly and this had lead to direct Champions League slots for the Romanian league. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

No, the latest news are that nothing has been signed. At this point, this transfer could still go through, or maybe it won't. |

Local newspaper Adresseavisen yesterday wrote that Hirschfeld has been talking to Cluj, so he is interested. |

Wikipedia also lists "Cluj" as current club for Lars Hirschfeld. Of course however, Wikipedia is not always the most reliable amongst all sources. On the Wikipedia page for Cluj, Lars is already in the "Current Squad" with a "TBA" (to be announced) next to his name.
Well, as I said, Wikipedia ain't the most reliable source on the internet, so I guess we should not draw conclusions that the transfer is done. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

For sure Wikipedia is not the most reliable.
Since Lars said that he didn't sign, it's obvious that he's still thinking about it, so anything could happen, really... |

Our president said that Lars is in Cluj right now so he will have 99% chances to sign the contract. Anyway, some of you say that it would be a strange move for Lars to go to Romania. Don't judge us while you don't even know anything about our team. |

The reason why many of us thinks that it is a strange move is because there have been som rumors og Lars being home-sick, and that he wanted to move back to Canada where his girlfriend studies. Therefore it is strange to move longer away (Romania). It has nothing to do with your team. Even though I personaly think that it is a step down to go from Rosenborg to Cluj. But I guess the money is better. _________________ Veni, vidi, vici! |

Well, it's official now. Hirschfeld signed a 3 and a half years contract with CFR Cluj. http://www.prosport.ro/ar...-cfr/72251
I hope he's going to be a good goalie for us, he will not be in the first line-up for sure because we got 2 other good goalkeepers. Actually, I'm pretty unsure about Hirschfeld... too bad you don't want to tell us more about him. Next on the list : Yssouf Kone. I like Kone very much but it would probably be unsporting of us to rob you of 3 players in just one transfer period. But who knows. |

Well, goodluck to Hirschfeld there. At least RBK have made a decent profit from his transfer and offcourse he's put in some ok performances for the club last season.
Jarstein will be more than able to make the number one his position his own for club and country IMO. |

He will not be in the first line-up for sure? Then you must have very, very good goalkeepers. I expect him to take that place pretty soon.
Please tell us when you know the transfer fee. Congratulations, by the way!

Actually, I'm quite sure Lars will be in the first line-up. It's true that we have 2 good goalkeepers, but for sure Lars is better than them! I'm glad that this transfer is finally completed! |

Hirschfeld definitely won't come in the posture of "star player" here at Cluj. We got many good players here and hopefully others will join. (not hopefully, surely) About our other goalkeepers: they are Eduard Stancioiu the 3rd (or even 2nd) best Romanian goalkeeper and Nuno Claro a 30 year old Portuguese goalkeeper who joined last summer free of contract. He has some outstanding reflexes, the only thing that lets him down is his positioning. Nuno has been our first goalkeeper until now... he has been decent, saved us in a few matches but he really has potential to be great, at least in my opinion. So, it will be difficult for Hirschfeld to make it into the first team. But, if he will work hard he will make it.
Edit: And thanks for the congrats. Good luck Rosenborg! Maybe our club president will make a partnership between our clubs, an anual friendly. (quite possible because Iuliu Muresan, our president likes to be in good relationships with other clubs, we already have partnerships with Benfica, Lanus and ASEC Mimosas, an Ivorian club. Oops, long post again. Best wishes from Romania, Rosenborg and thanks for your help. |

Hirschfeld is really really good, so unless this Nuno is a miracle worker, I expect Lars to become your first-choice goalkeeper.
And indeed, we say nothing bad about Cluj or about the Romanian league. The only reason why we think it is a strange move, is because Hirschfeld told he wanted to go back to America to be with his girlfriend. So we didn't expect him to go to another club in Europe. Maybe his girlfriend will move to Romania as well??
But good luck to Lars in Romania. Can you please come to our forum now and then to keep us updated on how he is doing? _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Partnership with ASEC? Interesting, we got Konan from them, and there's a couple of others ivorians from ASEC in the league too (if they ever return, that is). _________________ Det er bedre å stupe ut i smørøyet enn å gå rundt grøten! |
