Aright guys and girls, hope i find you all well!

I have joined up as i'm looking for some info on the afore mentioned player. As you well know, Vidar Riseth played for Celtic during the late 90's! Not ever being a Celtic great, he was however, a very fondly remembered player for Celtic.

So can anyone advide if Vidar has an official site, or would i have to go through the club to contact him. I'm looking for a small interview(well me supplying questions and hopefully him answering) for my football teams website!

Thank you very much

He don't have any website.

Rosenborg's press officer may help you get in touch with Riseth: harald.pedersen@rbk.no

Great to hear from Scotland!

Vidar Riseth was Rosenborg's playmaker last year.
From his central midfield position, he used his vision and finesse to initiate and steward most of Rosenborg's offensive play.
This year, he might be challenged by Marek Sapara for the playmaker role, but we will look to Vidar for his leadership and creativity for many years to come.

It seems to be more than just romours. His wife is from Kongsvinger (close to Lillestrøm) and his family wants to move back there.

He has a clause in his two-year-deal allowing him to cancel his contract before 1 December, and this is most likely what happened.

Saw Uefa's rule he didn't need of that clause.

Yep, that's true. The new FIFA rules let players do this, but I think he had an explicit clause in his contract too.

Actually I don't think any player in Norway so far has utilized the FIFA rule.

Nevertheless this is really a shock transfer for one of the supporters' biggest favourites.

You are totally right.
Riseth used to be my favourite player after Hoftun leaving RBK - and he is still good enough for matches like CL, he proved several times.
That`s a big loss!

And I cannot get tired to aski this question:
Who will be able to play in 2008s EC? We have so many players leaving, and they are the good ones! And even if we get some new, 2mas, you said that we are only allowed to add three new!
That is a shame, for Norwy has another series than other countries. They should be allowed.

Eggen confirmed the transfer in a meeting with the club sponsors this morning. Idea

I think (at least hope) this move is more "destructive" for Riseth than Rosenborg. He was a favourite among the supporters and ruins his reputation, even though his familiar matters is understandable. A free transfer as this will also be luctrative since Lillestrøm don't have to pay a transfer fee.

But we need younger players, and since we obviously have trouble signing new defenders, this is the hard way of doing it; now we have to. But as Gerrit said, we now will have problems composing a team in Euro cup in February because of the "max three new players" rule.

Sorry. A bit tired today. Smile

According to TV2 Riseth first was interested in a move to Vålerenga, but ended in Lillestrøm.

Sad news, strange about his family considering he's from Trondelag. (Steinkjer?)

I think he has performed well at times this year and has contributed important goals. A good player to have in the dressing room too and certainly one that could have continued in the squad for the next couple of years. (Especially with Kvarme retiring.)

Will be strange to see him against RBK but it's his decision. AS has been noted, the UEFA Cup campaign might be more difficult now and obviously for the future RBK need new defenders.

His birthplace is Levanger, but he grew up in Frosta.

After the match he said that bad signs of getting a regular place in the Rosenborg team next year was the main reason for leaving.

Fucking ego...you're an old man in football, Vidar. Get used to it. I bet PÃ¥l Steffen Andresen will keep you out of the LSK-team anyhow!
