... has the largest number of bars and hotels?

I am once again going to try to get a job but rather than focussing on only Norway I thought it may be wise to ask for cities like Copenhagen or Stockholm as well. Once I know one nordic language it's only a small step to find employment in Norway more easily anyway.

What Scandinavian city is the best one to go jobhunting in the hotels and bars? Stockholm, Oslo, or Copenhagen? I have a spare weekend soon and want to spend it walking around with my CV begging for a job, just not sure what city's the best one to try.

I've read somewhere that Tromsø has the largest percentage of bars compared to the population.

There shouldn't be a problem getting a bartenderjob in Copenhagen. Plenty of bars there. When I lived there, I met more than one that had just moved to the town and taken a bartenderjob to get started. It's also a fantastic town to live in. Smile

It's the home of Carlsberg so you'd expect plenty of bars. The mermaid is a big dissapointment though, i thought it would be bigger. Smile

I also went to Rosenborg castle interestingly enough.

The mermaid is not bigger than my dog and my dog is a chihuahua so that says it all Neutral

Is there a lot of bars needing people in this time of the year, or is this a bad time of the year to go applying? I know in the spring they all seek new staff for the summer season, but are there enough bars needing people right now as well?

That may well be true, but as the population of Tromsø is slightly smaller than those of Stockolm and Copenhagen it is a point which amounts to precious little.

Oslo-Copenhagen-Stockholm-Gothenburg aren't that far apart. How about coming over during early spring and see what yo find ? Try to study some lingo meanwhile Wink

I think bars need people all the time. Hotels too but if you don't speak Norwegian I think you can just forget about getting a job there.
