I hear that your previous attendance record at your stadium for 17 000 is about 12 000. Impressive!

- To be exact, that 12 000 is the club record of the club with this name Tampere United.

The record of the Stadium is about 24 000, when the club took on Juventus with its former name Ilves Tampere in 1984.

The stadium was also sold out on its present capacity in 2004, when Finland played Sweden.

Everyone knows there are bigger crowds in Norway, so I think that only puts some more pressure on Rosenborg players tonight. Wouldn´t it be frustrating to lose to such semi-pros? Wink

Yes, it would. But Levski lost both games, and they are probably on the same level as Rosenborg. Anything can happen. Rosenborg can play superduper or supersucky. So excited, can`t wait!

Sami Hyypiä, Liverpool - Champions League winner, UEFA Cup winner, FA Cup winner, first and only foreigner to captain Liverpool(2001-2003).

There are obviously more, but until you manage to produce a player even close to Jari "the King" Litmanen, you suck!

Ole Gunnar Solskjær

I'm very excited about tonights match. Even though I'm not a supporter of TamU but this is a huge occassion for Finnish football. The Rosenborg staff seemed to be a little cocky at theit press conference yesterday and I think that RBK might underestimate TamU just like Levski did (similar comments from Levski coach before their match in Ratina and Levski).

If everything goes well and Wiss, Savolainen, Lindström, Petrescu, Niemi and Kaven step up I can see TamU winning tonight. Especially Juska has been brilliant this season. I sure hope he will get his chance in the national team soon (though probably just in the bench).

Off to Tampere in a couple of hours. What's the turnout for RBK supporters for this match?

PS: I've had a soft spot for RBK for very long time following their UCL success in the late 90's and 00's. Hopefully I can follow them in the UEFA Cup this season Wink Furthermore the most outstanding own goal in the UCL was scored by an RBK player Saarinen (a Finn of course).

Honestly, I do not think that Rosenborg underestimate Tampere. I think the whole club is aware of how crappy we can be at our worst.

I agree, if Rosenborg does not qualify it's because they're not good enough, not because they underestimate Tampere.

Well, I admit missing Ojanperä is a blow for Tampere, but RBK is missing their captain, so its an even bigger blow for them. Plus we can throw Aho in to replace Ojanperä,so its not THAT bad.

I can't think of anyone Confused

Jari Litmanen, Ajax, Barcelona, Liverpool - Champions League winner, UEFA Cup winner, FA Cup winner, 3rd place in '95 Ballon d'Or(how many norwegians done that?)

I don't think he fulfilles criteria 4.

Some things are sacred and you've just crossed the line. Maybe one time if Norway produces a player with Litmanen's quality you can understand. With all do respect to Ole-Gunnar, he can be compared to Sami Hyypiä, but not to Litmanen. And by the way, Litmanen shines with criteria three with his cynical but brilliant sense of humour.

EDIT: You can enjoy yourself with this video:

http://www.youtube.com/wa...7MKygXO7XE

In the beginning there's national team matches. Two goals against Norway by the way. Second one after a great pass from Koppinen, if you can regocnize him. There's more in youtube.

CL final 99'

This goal from Ole was far more important than any goals produced by Litmanen. Ole is a living legend in perhaps the best football club in the world. Where is Jari considered a legend? Except from Finland of course? Perhaps in "small" Ajax?

20legend.

We all remember the goal from Ole. However he was never the same class with Litmanen. "Small" Ajax was at the time the best in the World. And Litmanen the best in Ajax. There's quite a few boys named Jari in Amsterdam, especially in mid 90s. Litmanen was world's 3rd best in -95. Ole-Gunnar has never been even close.

By skill and talent. Playing 20 years in Man United is ok, but he has never been as good as Litmanen as a player.

OK, I won't argue that Litmanen is a great player, but I guess you're down to a subjective evaluation of players that have different skills. How would you compare Maradona and Beckenbauer? It is impossible to say that one is better than the other. However, you can compare what they have acchieved, and in that sense I think Solskjærs record is better than Litmanen.

You seem like the most reasonable Finn we've had in here, so I'll give you this; if I was a manager, I would have prefered to have Litmanen of the two in my squad. Cool

Norway have several of the same of better quality then Litmanen, not just Sunny. Riise haven't won much, but is still counted as one of the key players for Liverpool, and when not suspendend ('coz he's never injured) he almost always is in the starting 11.

Carew has a huge potensial, probaly the biggest potensial any norwegian footballer have ever had. It was a reason that Valencia payed as much as they did, and that we did pay so much for him. He has just choosen to play for smaller teams, beacouse he's to lazy to train enough to be in a big team and have therefore not mangaged to get out his full potensial eigther. Had he done that, he would have been one of the worlds top ten strikers, I'm sure.

And Vegard Heggem was guessed to become the worlds best rightback, but injuries ruined his carrier. Same thing with Ronny Johnsen.

Henning Berg is still the only nordic player to win Premier League with two different clubs and is highly respected in both Manchester, Blackburn and Glasgow.

And then there's Steffen..

And that's just the ones that have played in our time. I could go longer back in time and find someone that really will make you stuned.

Jari Litmanen was an excellent footballer, though. The way he played you could see he had a higher understanding of the game. Sort of like Zidane, just not quite.

You got it all wrong from the beginning. The ones you mentioned are all good players or ones with potential, but nowhere nere Litmanen's class. In the same way I can talk about Hyypiä or Tainio in Tottenham. Or one of the best goalkeepers in English Premiership Jääskeläinen and Niemi. Or mention Forssell, with 17 goals in Premiership (tops Ole Gunnar Solkjär there by the way) and was one the most talented forwards but injuries ruined his career, even though he made a nice comeback by scoring againts Chelsea last weekend.

But anyway, this is not the point. I think many of you understand the class of Litmanen. He could be like Zidane, but was just born in a wrong country for national team success. Actually in 90s the Dutch said it themselves, only thing they missed from the national team was Litmanen.

Well, RBK ja TamU have different players. (well Iversen plays for RBK) Roy Hodgson named the squad for the coming qualifier. Kaven, Wiss and Niemi were picked and Petrescu was named for U21.
