I think it can be called a must win. We are in a deep enough hole as it is. My guess is that if we loose tonight we need to put something like an 8 game winning streak together after the break just to catch up with Stabækk and/or Brann.

A bit like last year, in other words...

If you somehow manage to not beat Aalesund at home tonight, it's starting to look more like 2005 than 2006 Smile
One team may collapse, or even two. But it is highly unlikely that four or five teams will do so. Chances are that at least one of them will have a good second half of the season.

2-2! Sad

What to say about that, well...the game should have been finished long before the 93rd minute. The chances missed from Konan and a few others was dissapointing. I thought Hirschfeld should have done better from the corner, offcourse the defence went missing and up popped Brown amazingly enough. Can't believe RBK are now well off the pace, behind Viking, Brann and Lillestrom is not a problem but Stabaek are on fire at the moment.

On a more positive note i thought Basma played well enough.

Come on, we mustn't let them score at the end of the game! 2-2 with Aalesund at home, doesn't look very brilliant for this season!

I don't think we'll manage to win the league this season, it is not very likely that all those teams in front of us will collapse during the autumn. We'll have ourself to blame though (especially Daniel Braaten), it is just not acceptable to waste all the chances we have wasted at Lerkendal this season.

RBK lost two vital points against AaFK due to a goal that should not have been.

Read more: Rosenborg - Aalesund 2-2

In a way we are better off than last year in that we are "only" nine points behind, but on the other hand there are five times as many contenders for the title this year.

If only that chubby zombie of a striker we have can keep away from the burger joints this summer vacation and get back into the shape he was last fall we still might have a chance.

Edit: speling

We're missing chances, no-one can dispute this but defensively we are conceading 'silly' goals.

I don't know what the deal is there. From watching interviews, I get the impression that the coaching staff is on top of our offensive problems, in the sense that they know what the problem is and have a plan to fix it (I'm not hard to convince, I'll take their word for it). But I don't hear them talk too much about why we're letting in all those silly goals.

If we need a goalscorer, could we get Karadas back?

I get your point, i think RBK could offer him better football than 2nd tier Bundesliga. Anyway, there is a lot of pressure on Iversen to score all the goals at the moment, who could we sign?

Get Frode back?

We need a Brattbakk kinda player, and atm I don't see anyone in TL that could fit that role.

I think that sounds like a good idea. If Koné leaves, we must buy a replacement. Karadas could be great rival to Iversen's position.

Where is Karadas now, by the way? Is he in Norway for the treatment of some illness he had some months ago? That was the last thing I heard of him.

That's why we should maybe buy someone now. The Kone deal will bring in more money to add to the Solli funds. With Gislason likely to be heading elsewhere, we should look for a striker. Karadas is still a Benfica player as far as i know, he was on loan to Kaiserlautern last term.

I heard Lars Hirschfeld after the AFK game, he said "We didn't bring anyone in last year in the same position". The problem this year is that Stabaek, Viking and Lyn are in the mix aswell as the usual suspects Brann and LSK.

If we don't strengthen, it might not be our year.

It's no crises if RBK dosn't win this year. However, it will be a crises if we don't end up in the top 3 and don't get a E-cup spot...

An entertaining match!

Most importantly, a good win for Rosenborg. With other results (LSK draw, Stabaek defeat) going our way, a win was a must. I thought that both teams played ok but RBK were comfortable winners.

Both Iversen's goals were very good but the second one was fantastic. Konan played reasonably well and scored some nice goals too. I thought Odegaard/Pimpong made a difference for Viking, Stoor came on and kept Odegaard quiet though which was good.

Braaten was average at best, is the recent speculation over a move still in his mind?

7 points behind Brann, will their 'bottle' crash again i wonder...

Braaten was rubbish. He should be ashamed of himself. Tettey had a very good game, while Skjelbred, Konan and Iversen can be proud of their effort in the second half. Ok game by Sapara too, but I've seen him better.

He got the TV2 beste spiller award although i agree, there were others like Iversen, Tettey etc that deserved it more.

Braaten looked more alive tonight than I can remember seeing him in a very long time.

And he was. I saw it clearly when he walked off the pitch. He didn't respond to Tørum's high five either.

I think Sapara played very well tonight. He worked hard, had some good crosses and he was comfortable with the ball.

The fall season began well: RBK won, important opponents lost points - the battle for the gold is on.

Read more: Rosenborg - Viking 4-2

Even Tettey's fiercest critics on the Norwegian forum agreed to him playing exceptionally well tonight.

Err..another poor result, at least Tettey's goal was something special. Other results went our way apart from the other most important, Brann won again!

And to rub it in, Helstad scores yet another hattrick too. Things aren't looking to good for the title, the European trip away to them won't be easy either sadly.

Excellent result tonight!

Good performance too, what's everyone's thoughts on the penalty decision?

Kone seems to be making a difference although Sappy played well again and setup the 2nd. Brann will be reasonably pleased that Stabaek slipped up but not they have the champions on their shoulder.

Confidence boosted all round for Astana.
