apologies for dragging up a painful memory for Rosenberg fans, but I'm trying to identify the Rosenberg Goal-keeper in a football clip which is being used in a BBC TV programme. The clip is from the 80's? or early 90's? Rosenberg are playing away at Lillestrom. A Rosenberg defender slices the ball high into the air. It looks like the wind catches the ball and it bounces right over the keeper into the Rosenberg goal. The Keeper is desperately trying to get back, but loses his footing and falls over. I'm guessing that it's probably been shown a lot on Norwegian TV over the years on those comedy football bloopers type shows. Any ideas anyone??
Thanks.

I think that must be Jørn Jamtfall, today keeper coach for RBK and norwegian national team. I do remember the incident, and it is inded painful. Jamtfall did some spectacular mistakes during his career.

Thanks guys, I didn't expect such a quick response. I Really appreciate your help. You'll be pleased? to know that it's number 4 in a section of our programme called 'Top ten own goals'.

Don't mention it Wink If you are making a list, be sure to spell Rosenborg correctly.

A few years ago I actually managed to get the goal included on the More Own Goals and Gaffs DVD. Wink

It was by the way one of our midfielders, Trond Egil Soltvedt, who scored the own goal: Another video clip

We lost the match 1-2 to Lillestrøm, and it was actually our only loss in the 1997 season. Soltvedt did by the way end up in England; Coventry and Southampton.

Thanks - that's the DVD we saw it on. It's good (apart from the bits with Rory McGrath) Unfortunately the company that produced it couldn't supply us with any information about it. As usual, the internet comes to the rescue...

The Rosenborg defender Bjørn Otto Bragstad managed to score three own goals (in addition to three goals the correct way) in one season in 1994. One of them a spectacular volley into his own net when Rosenborg defeated Ham-Kam 6-1 the 8th of May 1994. By the way this was the same game as Harald Martin Brattbakk scored one of his favourite goals of his career, when a shot from long range hit the crossbar and he followed up leaving the Ham-Kam goalie and the defenders way outside the penalty area.

Let's not forget by the way that Jørn had some excellent saves as well. Overall I found him a quality goalkeeper. Every goalie makes mistakes, although I admit the owngoal was a very bad one, but overal I think he can look back on a very fulfilling career.
