I am hoping to make a trip to Trondheim and TromsÃ¸ within the next 10 weeks. I went to a few travel agencies but the cheapest they could find (for flights from Dublin or London to Oslo, then continue to Trondheim or TromsÃ¸) was about 400pounds (= 600 euro) Confused

That seems not very realistic to me, I'm sure there's a cheaper option?

Does anyone know the best and most cost-effective way to come to Norway, leaving from either Ireland or the UK?

600 euro is about 4500 NOK, and I think that is normal price if you are going form London to Oslo and then to Trondheim or TromsÃ¸.

I'm sure you can find a cheap flight to Oslo and then take the bus to Trondheim. Maybe for 500 kr total.

But you can also use Norwegian. They offer flights from Oslo to TromsÃ¸ for 498 kr. They've got flights to Trondheim for 368 kr too.

EDIT: They have better alternatives too:
London - Trondheim 450 kr
London - TromdÃ¸ 1000 kr

It's probably faster with bus than with train.

But I have given him better alternatives, as you can see.

The train between Oslo and Trondheim is about one or two hours faster than the bus (I can see now) and it costs only 199 kr, but the direct flights are probably better alternatives.

If you use Ryanair, you can get flights for a total of 25.16 GBP (returnticket and including all taxes) from London to Oslo (Sandefjord)

Cheers lads, that norwegian.no is very useful! They have some good prices. I did some calculations and apparently I can make the trip for about 300 euro only!

There is no low-cost airline serving TromsÃ¸ or Trondheim I guess?

Norwegian is the low cost airline but there are great distances and few people in Norway Wink

Norwegian is serving both Trondheim and TromsÃ¸, but have no direct flight between these two cities.
