I am hoping to make a trip to Trondheim and Tromsø within the next 10 weeks. I went to a few travel agencies but the cheapest they could find (for flights from Dublin or London to Oslo, then continue to Trondheim or Tromsø) was about 400pounds (= 600 euro) That seems not very realistic to me, I'm sure there's a cheaper option?
Does anyone know the best and most cost-effective way to come to Norway, leaving from either Ireland or the UK? _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

600 euro is about 4500 NOK, and I think that is normal price if you are going form London to Oslo and then to Trondheim or Tromsø. |

I'm sure you can find a cheap flight to Oslo and then take the bus to Trondheim. Maybe for 500 kr total.
But you can also use Norwegian. They offer flights from Oslo to Tromsø for 498 kr. They've got flights to Trondheim for 368 kr too.
EDIT: They have better alternatives too:
London - Trondheim 450 kr
London - Tromdø 1000 kr |

Who wants to take bus the long way from Oslo to Trondheim?! The train is better, and I don't think you have to pay so much more for travel by train than travel by bus.
Sorry my bad english, but I think you understand what I mean. |

It's probably faster with bus than with train.
But I have given him better alternatives, as you can see. |

Yes, but I didn't see any reason to comment it (the flights) |

The train between Oslo and Trondheim is about one or two hours faster than the bus (I can see now) and it costs only 199 kr, but the direct flights are probably better alternatives.

If you use Ryanair, you can get flights for a total of 25.16 GBP (returnticket and including all taxes) from London to Oslo (Sandefjord) |

Cheers lads, that norwegian.no is very useful! They have some good prices. I did some calculations and apparently I can make the trip for about 300 euro only!
There is no low-cost airline serving Tromsø or Trondheim I guess? _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Norwegian is serving both Trondheim and Tromsø, but have no direct flight between these two cities. |

Quote: | Friendly people
The further north you get in Norway, the people tend to get more and more friendly and extrovert. The people in Trøndelag are considered a kind of its own, friendly and full of confidence, but not bragging. The people are proud of their sensational football team, Rosenborg, which has done so well in the champion’s league the last decade. |

Yes, we're a tourist attraction now! We're mentionned in one breath with the Nordkapp, with the Edvard Munch Museum, ... _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

More like a pearl among pebbles, if we're mentioned alongside the North Cape and the Munch museum... _________________ "Engang en ret forvoven Jyde
