I believe Rosenborg and Olympiacos will fight about the third place and qualification for the UEFA Cup. Olympiacos are favourites, but with our new head coach we might have a good chance.
You Greeks have to be satisfied with your new coach. His style of play will probably make you even better. Thus more difficult for us to beat you. |

hi to all rozenborg's fans......i am an olympiakos supporter from greece!!
i hope we will have 2 good games and the best will win!!
As u know our coach this year is Trond Sollied.....i think he had worked as an assistant manager in your team!!! well they said that this is a kind of advantage for us but i dont know.....we have only one official game for our championship and we are not in the best physique situation...
i dont know if any rbk's fan will travel in greece for the game but u r all welcome... _________________

Trond Sollied was our head coach for a year. He is one of the best coaches in norway. _________________ Never argue with an idiot... you'll

Welcome to the forum, Rojoblanco!
What is your impression of Sollied? I heard the players seem to like him. He's apparently the first ever coach Rivaldo has been comfortable with. |

last year i felt that we deserved to win both games against pananthinaikos but we were extremely unlucky... of course, olympiakos is a much better team so i dont know what to expect this year.
edit: take a look at the videos from steaua - rbk. youll find them if you follow the link in my sig. it will give you an idea about what to expect! |

2mas u have right....Sollied seems to be a seirius and well organised person....he is helpful and openminded , he speaks to the players and we all believe that our team will have great effects (especially in c.l ) with him....
by the way have u been registered in ultras7osfp.com forum???there is an rbk's fan there with an avatar like yours!!!
uoriginal definetely u were better than panathinaikos and u deserved to win both games!! panathinaikos is a piece of shit and recently(before a week) we won him 0-2 in his stadium with 60.000 fans!!!
but u need to know that we are much much much better than panathinaikos and in our stadium (karaiskakis stadium) its very difficult to lose by another team.....even the european champions liverpool didnt make it... _________________

2001
RBK-FC Porto 1-2
RBK-Juventus 1-1
RBK-Celtic 2-0

RBK-Ventspils 6-0 (UEFA-cup, 1st round)
RBK-Red Star Belgrade 0-0 (UEFA-cup, 2nd round)
RBK-Benfica 2-1 (UEFA-cup, 3rd round)

Some answers:
2mas wrote: | solli11 wrote: | what is wrong with this team? I have never see a team capitulate like this from champions one season to possible relegation the next? |
There is of course no easy answer to this. First I have to say that Rosenborg have been worsened every year since our great 1999 season. This have not changed over the night (as a Norwegian saying says).
I think the players' mentality is the biggest problem. They don't agree on this themselves, but it is easy to see that some/many (vary a bit) of them in some games are not willing to give everything. It seems like many of them is well satisfied by being signed by Rosenborg and given good wages (after Norwegian standard). They have in some way achieved what they wanted in their career. For a true supporter it is really depressing to see well-paid players don't give 100%.
At the same time the board, president (Snuruås), CEO (Skutle) and sports director (Bratseth) have been acting arrogantly. They wanted Sollied to replace Eggen already in 2003, but Aage Hareide proved to be a good hiring. When he left for the national team, the trouble began.
The bosses once more said Sollied was their first choice, but since he was not interested moving home, assistant coach Ola By Rise was hired in front of the 2004 season. He did a good season, securing the league title and qualifying to the Champions League, but the bosses never gave him full confidence. This affected the players, and in the end By Rise was sacked.
Then it was a reprise: Again Sollied was asked, and there were negotiations in Belgium in October/November last year. But again Sollied turned the offer down, and By Rise's assitant Per Joar Hansen was hired. He is/was a pretty good coach, but not as good as his predecessors. He did some tactically wrong decisions during games which we loss, and soon the board was not able to hide their mistrust and openly began the search for a new coach.
On Friday 5 August Per-Mathias Hoegmo secretly signed a contract starting 1 January. I think Hansen knew this, and after the 1-2 loss for Lillestroem, he withdrew for his position, giving Hoegmo his job.
Hoegmo seems like a much better coach than Hansen, and hopefully he will make some necessary changes. What I like the best, is that he is saying that he wants to take a closer look on Skutle and Bratseth's roles in the club. This leader duo has not done their job good enough in my eyes, but Hoegmo is the first having enough guts to tell them. |

Probable Rosenborg line-up:
Espen Johnsen
Roar Strand - Bjørn Tore Kvarme - Alejandro Lago - Mikael Dorsin
Per Ciljan Skjelbred - Ørjan Berg - Fredrik Winsnes
Jan Gunnar Solli - Thorstein Helstad - Øyvind Storflor
Solli and Storflor will be very defensive, and hopefully this can give Sollied trouble.
I think this might be a match scenario like the one in Steaua Bucuresti - Rosenborg when the home team were attacking in 90 minutes, but was just able to make one goal. Helstad will probably get at least one goal attempt during the match, and in Romania he managed to level the score to 1-1 in the 87th minute.
Synes Daniel gjorde mye rart i Stavanger, så jeg kunne ikke forstå at han skulle få starte heller.
Olympiakos captain Djordjevic is by the way a bit nervous:
"They've got nothing to lose and that makes them very dangerous. A good result for them could trigger a recovery in their season."

Good game Rosenborg, you trashed Olympiakos 3-1. It seems the great battle with Steaua really improved your team. I hope you'll win against Real Madrid also. The best of luck to RBK in the CL!!! _________________ Steaua rulz! |

Olympiakos 1-3 RBK!
Great result, maybe slightly lucky as the Greeks gave RBK two own goals and Storflor scored a late winner, however it's a great result.
Trond Sollied brought back quality like Rivaldo but it wasn't enough, i could we see this result coming. |

Well, by lucky i mean they scored two own goals according to the uefa.com report http://www.uefa.com/compe...rt=RP.html
It also said Johnsen was RBK's key man. Just going by that i thought it might be slightly fortunate but it does mention the determination of the performance and fightback. |

But if we "remove" the two own goals, Rosenborg had won 2-0... Olympiakos were as lucky as we were in this matter!
I honestly think Rosenborg played a excellent match, and did not give away many goal attempts to the Greeks. |

Yes, sorry about the wording. The Greek's own goal was funny though, what was the keeper doing?
Johnsen pulled off some good saves supposedly in the 2nd half and some are reporting the score as flattering to Rosenborg but it's the win that counts i suppose. |
