National drink?
Check if you can find "Dahls Pils" somewhere!
No, "karsk" is the real national drink. (If you will make it real, it is illegal of course )
It consists of 3 parts of coffee, and one part 96% spirits. |

Thanks dude..... 95% spirits!!! Even the Pentagon have to think about that!!
And 3 rounds of coffee??? A norwegian national drink??? Jesus!!!
96% Alcohol??? You're dreaming dude!!! With this you make the fuel for the EADS, not for a national drink...........
But, this wanted to be a norwegian joke: HAHAHAHAHA... _________________ Yup, mein Name ist Harald, bin Siebenbürger Sachse, Mitglied der Lutherischen Kirche (hmmm, ich habe bislang alles gemeinsam wie die Norweger!) It is true. You can of course choose to use a bit less of alcohol, but many thinks it is best "the strong" way. Especially in the northern parts of my/our country.
But I am not really shure about it is the real norwegian national drink, but many thinks it tastes good. In Norway only? Try it out yourself! |

Yes... You are too kind
But trying something that doesn't even exist is "ziehmlich" hard!!! I just asked for the name of the norwegian drink.... _________________ Yup, mein Name ist Harald, bin Siebenbürger Sachse, Mitglied der Lutherischen Kirche (hmmm, ich habe bislang alles gemeinsam wie die Norweger!) Sure it exists.. Take a really large cup, fill 3/4 of it with coffee. Blue Java etc. And then fill up the last 1/4 with homemade 96%-alcohol.. Then you've got "Karsk". Karsk is only the nationaldrink in the state of Trøndelag/Trondheim.
I can asure u, there are not many men in our capital; Oslo that have tasted "Karsk".. |

The homemade alcohol isn't always 95-96 % proof though... The quality varies a lot
When I was too young to buy alcohol in the stores, it was easier to get homemade alcohol. Where I grew up, almost every home made their own alcohol... it's tradition. Besides, me and my friends actually preferred karsk anyway. I drank and LIKED coffee + alcohol years before I started to drink "normal" coffee...
Today I stick to beer and whiskey, and the occasional glass of wine... Not many of my friends/relatives drink karsk anymore. |
