Even though we ended up without points from the two matches against Real Madrid, we did increase our self-confidence after 135 minutes of good football (1st half in Madrid and 90 minutes in Trondheim). Especially the 2nd half in the last match, when we were outplaying the Real stars, was great.

At the same time Olympiakos have not gained points in Europe, and their away stats in Champions League (27 matches: 0-4-23) do not scare us. Our home record against Greek clubs are also good: 3-0 win against Panathinaikos in 1996, 5-1 win against you in 1997 and 2-2 against Panathinaikos last year.

In addition to this, the Norwegian winter is on its way. Today it is ice-cold rain and 5°C in Trondheim, and towards the weekend the snow most likely will be falling. I know the talk about Rosenborg will take advantage of the cold weather is almost a cliché, but it is a fact that Rivaldo & Co. are not used to Nordic winter...

Because of these factors I think the chances for at least a draw against you are very good. One point next Wednesday will secure our 3rd place in group F, giving us UEFA Cup.

"Now everything is about bringing the UEFA Cup spot back home," Rosenborg coach Per-Mathias Høgmo says.

By the way, I hear romours about 500 Olympiakos supporters will be travelling to Trondheim next week. That's good - they do at least beat the 50 Panathinaikos supporters last year. Wink

Although I think we should be wary of uneccessary hubris, I have a good feeling about this game. After all, Olympiacos is the one international adversary that Rosenborg has enjoyed full control over.

3-0 to Rosenborg, then it's off to wreak black and white havoc in the UEFA cup! RBK

Atromitos - Olympiakos 0-1:

"I am glad with the three points. It was a hard-fought encounter in which we struggled to find our rhythm due to Atromitos's physical nature. This victory is important for our self-confidence. I am also satisfied with the performance of the players introduced today to replace the absentees. But in Trondheim on Wednesday we must play better in order to get a positive result," Trond Sollied said.

Sollied has a number of injury problems to contend with ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League matchday 5 encounter at Rosenborg BK. Predrag Djordjević (knee) and Yaya Touré (foot) were both absent for the weekend win and are considered doubtful to travel to Norway, while Mihalis Kapsis was ruled out following a calf complaint, allowing Spanish centre-back Gabriel Schürrer to make a first league start this term. Mihalis Konstantinou, Ioannis Taralidis and Stylianos Venetidis remain long-term absentees.

Why can't non-Norwegian people write Rosenborg or Trondheim correct? Never been a problem for me to write Athens, Maccabi, Steaua or Olympiakos ...

They use the more primitive (joking! Wink) greek symbols. So they just know how to pronounce the names, not write them correctly using the latin alphabet.

If you consider places with a population of less than 100.000 a "city", it might not be true (eg. Røros), but its the prettiest real city in Scandinavia.

Guys, you're missing the point. For any Trondheimer, the most beautiful city in the world, is Trondheim. Objectivity just doesn't come into it.

No, they still is called Olympiakos in Greek. But the club management suddenly decided to change the club's "International brand name" to Olympicos a few years ago, just to prevent mix-ups with the other Olympiakos clubs around (in Nicosia etc.).

...a idiotic decision in my eyes: I can't understand that the club member and supporters allowed them!

Oh, sorry.
And I agree, having a different domestic and international name sounds pretty stupid.

Well, since I'm not a Trondheimer I can say that Trondheim is certainly a more baeutiful town than Oslo, but I think that Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen would be more appealing to most tourists than Trondheim.

What Trondheim do have is the best football-team in Scandinavia.
