Hello My name is Danny and i work for Codemasters Software in England. We are currently making the game LMA manager 2006 for Playstation 2 and Xbox and i am in charge of research for the Tippeligaen. It would help me to represent Rosenborg acurately if the users of this forum could fill me in with some information. I would like to know what Riise's tactics are for home and away matches. WHo are your best players and what are their top skills? Who are the best young players in the first team squad? Who takes free kicks, penalties and corners? This information would be very useful to me and help make Rosenborg better in the game.

Well, det most important thing first: Ola By Riise is no longer the manager of Rosenborg Ballklubb. The current managers name is Per Joar Hansen!

Does Hansen like an attacking style? 4-4-2?

Hansen has, like most of the managers before him, gone trough the "Rosenborg-school" wich basicly means that he have, for the most at least, the same philosophy as legendary manager Nils Arne Eggen. That again basicly means that Rosenborg usually plays 4-3-3, with atacking wingbacks as a part of the strategy. This is the simple version, wich means that it's the version I can give you, but I know that it is people on this forum who can explain it better than I can.

The best palyers in our squad have to be Roar Strand, Vidar Riseth, Mikael Dorsin, Torstein Helstad, Daniel Braaten. Jan Gunnar Solli etc. We have many good players. The best young player is Per Ciljan Skjelbred. He maked he's debut lately on the first team. A very good player, wich just is 18 years old. He runs till he taste blood in he's mouth, and work hard as a nail all the time.

I think we can mention Alexander Tettey also, even if he not play as much as Skjelbred. Alexander Tettey, originaly from Ghana, but now plays for Norways youth-team, isn't more than 19 (or is he 20?), but is a very promising central midfielder/defender, but have had bigger problems making it into the first-team becouse of the hard compitition Rosenborg have in this part of the team. but, he is no doubt a futures man, alongside Skjelbred. Both are are technical players, and Tettey is also quite stong pysicaly, mostley beacouse of the way he is builded.

When it comes to the more established players in the squad, I think some of them are quite well knowed thrughout Europe, so some of them may not need a further presentation.

What do people think of Hansen? I understand that Riise was a well respected trenere. Is the new guy tactically up to scratch? Also do you Rosenborg fans think you will be able to catch up in the league for another championship?

It is fair to say that Hansen is questioned as a coach. However, the players seem to respect him and it is too soon to say if he will get the team up and going again. I have my doubts that Hansen is the right man for the job, but I do sincerely hope that I am wrong.

What you need to know about Rosenborg, is that we (the supporters) allways think we can get up to scratch with the other teams, because Rosenborg performs its best football in the late-summer/autumn. History has also shown that the other teams in Tippeligaen lacks the stability and confindence it takes to win a National Championship. This year, however, things do look bleak, but as I mentioned earlier, we still believe..Remeber, Start, the current leader, is a new team in Norwegian Tippeligaen and it is likely that they will not compete for glory in the fall.

Strand is the work-machine. He works in 90 minutes, and he also have a good shot. He have scored a couple of goals in this season from 16-30 metres. Riseth is a strong, quick player, wich is good in the air. He have been out of play for a long time because of pain in the leg, but he is back. I can also mention Jan Gunnar Solli, wich passes well and is very quick. Good 1 a 1.

Daniel Braaten, with nigarian blood in his vains, is maybe Norways most up-and-coming young talent today. He is a fast, creative an unpredictibal player with great technic and ditto balance. When he's in top-shape, that is. One of his few weaknesses is that he is at times very variable in his efforts and can sometimes disapear completely, but, as I said, when he's in the right move, he is a player of the highest class. I remember one game this season, where he has the ball down by the cornerflag and have to or three players form the other team around him (Standing agaist him in a circle, with Braaten in the middle.) He actually manages to get past them all and continue on his route to the goal, so as you see, he's a good dribler. Some have compared him to John Carew, and they do actually have simularities, but Carew is higher, and thereby better on the head. Even if he is a striker, it wouldn't hurt him to become better in the defencive parts of the game.

The main rivals are VÃ¥lerenga and Brann. Before this season there were speculations about how the league would end. The most of them (the newspapers, internett etc,) predicted that Rosenborg took gold and next VÃ¥lerena and then Brann.

Definetely SK Brann and VÃ¥lerenga IF. Those are also the two main teams to challenge for the championship, next to Rosenborg of cours.
