AIK Solna's abrasive Scottish coach Alex Miller has publicly criticised his players, sold two fan favourites and introduced a tough disciplinary regime in the few short weeks since he took over the Swedish champions.

(...)

Miller is no stranger to the Champions League having worked for Liverpool during their triumphant campaign in 2005.

"I had the good fortune to be with Liverpool when they won it and guys who were millionaires were crying. It's not about the money, it's about getting the medal."

Miller is hoping to taste success in the Champions League again and has watched Rosenborg carefully as part of his preparations for their qualifying encounter.

"They defend as a team and they attack as a team but we're at home and we'll have to try to increase our attacking qualities. At the end of the tie, both teams will know that they've been in a hard fixture."

Would love for a swedish club to do well in an european cup (though not against a norwegian side of course Wink ), but never AIK. Lets do the rest of Scandinavia a favour and send them packing.

edit: Give me bajen anyday Razz

Having outfoxed experienced defender Daniel Tjernström before finishing neatly on 33 minutes, Henriksen said:

"I saw Tjernström come towards me at great pace so I decided to delay my shot and then hit it with my left; it was a good goal. We were happy with 1-0 at half-time, but wanted to score another after the break. We knew AIK are a good team and we are delighted to have won there. Now we have a good chance in the second leg."

Through to the next round thanks to Prica (unless AIK get a miracle). Good job, hopefully we keep a clean sheet and get a nice draw.

Rosenborg meet Basel, Anderlecht, FC Copenhagen, Sparta Prague or Hapoel Tel Aviv in the next round. The draw takes place this coming Friday. Who do we want?

We beat FCK before so I guess they would be the preferred draw - or possibly Tel Aviv. The others would probably be tougher but definetly far from impossible. Let's get into the Champions League - and I will personally make the effort to get the Lerkendal again in the autumn. Smile

Whay, nice win Rosenborg!

Whoever RBK get will be tough. FC Copenhagen would be interesting and they're all beatable, but it will be tough.

Excellent. Solbakken will want to beat us pretty badly. Is this potentially his last campaign with FCK ahead of the Norge job?

Anyway, we have at least a 50-50 chance to make the group stages.

Parken holds roughly 50,000 right? How many tickets will RBK get..1,000 maybe?

I think it will be too short notice for me but I'd love to go back to Copenhagen, great city. Will definetly make another CL night in Trondheim though assuming I can get a ticket. Smile

Actually it will a lot easier for you to get a ticket for the away game in Copenhagen than for any home match in the Champions League group stage.

And it is the same for the other away matches; very rare that all tickets available for RBK are sold.

Rosenborg are unbeaten against Danish opposition in UEFA competition and have won their two previous home matches – both against Brøndby IF – by a single goal. They won 1-0 in the 2002/03 UEFA Champions League third qualifying round before a 3-2 victory in the UEFA Cup first round six years later when Per Ciljan Skjelbred was among the scorers.

København are also unbeaten in their five UEFA games against Tippeligaen sides, all coming since August 2008. In Norway, the Copenhagen club defeated Lillestrøm SK 4-2 in the 2008/09 UEFA Cup second qualifying round, before sharing a goalless draw with Stabæk Fotball in last season's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.

Good news for those that can't get to the game Tuesday - Sky Sports are covering the game live on match choice. Hopefully we get the result we need, ideally for me a 1 or 2-0 win.

Prica fit for fight after his ancle injury, so the line-up will be as strong as it gets:

Daniel Örlund

Mikael Lustig - Kris Stadsgaard - Vadim Demidov - Mikael Dorsin

Markus Henriksen - Anthony Annan - Per Ciljan Skjelbred
Steffen Iversen

Morten Moldskred - Rade Prica

I like the team.

I have watched FCK once before live - vs Aberdeen - and they were awful that night (I think Aberdeen won 4-0).

They had a better team those days I think - Hangeland, Allback etc. I don't know much about them these days. Should we worry about any of their team? They have a few Brazilians...

Olsen replaces Moldskred:

Daniel Örlund

Mikael Lustig - Kris Stadsgaard - Vadim Demidov - Mikael Dorsin

Markus Henriksen - Anthony Annan - Per Ciljan Skjelbred
Steffen Iversen

Trond Olsen - Rade Prica

"We used some extra energy to defend our lead with only ten men, but we will cope – we are well trained," said winger Trond Olsen.

2-0! Henriksen. Smile

Hopefully we don't concede...and get a third goal.
