I'm not an England hater by any means but they simply didn't deserve to go through. Their most definetly a team of individuals if you could say such a thing. |

For the first time in donkeys years, I couldn't be bothered about a European Cup (no home nation sides, no Denmark and no Norway). Though I hope the Swedes will do well, I doubt I'll be watching anything else than the final.
Club or country ? Club all the way..... |

Very poor match of the Italian team,if the championship could go in that way is better return home.
I would prefer an experienced foreigner coach, but not all share my thought. |

It's impossible that a team as Italy has a coach without any international experience.
Saw that big teams didn't leave their coach,I would prefer a foreigner coach. |

With Norway not being there I am backing Turkey right now, and so far so good I'd say I do think the Turks will go down against Germany, the number of injuries and suspensions is big and Germany is the type of team that always performs when they really need it. For the 2000000 Turks living in Germany this will be an epic game. Gotta love how good old Rüstü became the hero against Croatia minutes after a capital error ; the guy is a legend
I am mainly surprised with Portugal going out, even if it was against Germany. Their midfield was so incredibly talented and their team was a healthy balance of experienced players and top talents. I thought they were capable of getting very far, maybe winning the tournament even.
Russia has been the surprise of the tournament, with sparkling football. The way they totally outplayed the Netherlands (with a bit more effeciency in front of goal they could have scored 5 or 6 goals) was impressive. Constant pressing on the ball as soon as an opponent has in posession, very nice collective attacks, very rapid counters, this team could be lethal and they are still so young. Maybe Russia is becoming a new power in European football? I don't believe this is coincidence, the fact that Russian clubs also start to win trophies in Europe and that the national team does well with mainly players playing in the own league is not a coincidence.
Netherlands also played some outstanding football against Italy but I had a feeling they would not make it to the semi-finals. They just are a talented but very inconsistent side, you could notice that during that during the qualifiers as well and in the pre-tournament friendlies. They have the talent to get very far but they choke at some point, it was pretty much the same the last tournaments as well. They were having great results but their opposition until last night was in a bad form, Russia was the first big test for the Dutch and they failed quite badly.
I am hoping for a Turkey-Russia final but I doubt Germany will fail to beat Turkey. Russia is more likely to surprise, although Italy is also typically a nation that grows in a tournament and wins when it really matters. I would not be surprised with a final between Germany and Italy, even though I'd say none of them have been that impressive to claim a spot in the final. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

If Italy beat both Russia and Spain to the final it will be a loss for the tournament. Even tough I'm hoping for Spain, I hope Germany - Russia will be the final. What a great final that would be, filled with emotions played in the homeland of the devil himself. |

I believe he is still honorary citizen there, mainly because Austrian law doesn't allow someone being robbed of that title. I guess most people there just want to forget about the guy and his connection to the town. I recently talked to a nice girl from Austria and somehow Hitler came into the conversation, she seemed quite freaked out by it (so I kinda ruined my chances with her in a very bizarre way )
Italy tonight was anti-football to the bone. It was a human wall in front of goal, I haven't seen them this defensively for a long time. I'm glad that Spain won, at least they tried to play regular football and attack. And Iker Casillas proved once again he is the nr 1 in the world, great display by him
The game vs Russia should be a good one, both teams are attacking (Spain will also get more room for attacks because Russia won't play defensively like Italy did). I don't think it will be another 4-1 or anything close to that, Russia are a totally different team than the first game and they have a moral boost. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!
