Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella is set to seal a £3.5million move to Rosenborg.
The 21-year-old Spaniard will travel to Norway to undergo a medical in the next few days after a deal was agreed between the clubs.

The source said Liverpool have insisted on inserting a buy-back clause for the first three seasons of the Spaniard's time at Rosenborg.
Former Liverpool defender Stig Inge Bjornebye is sporting director at Rosenborg and believes the club's fluent style of play will suit Chirivella.
Chirivella moved to Liverpool from Valencia in 2013 and has gone on to make five competitive first-team appearances for the Reds since.

Exciting news! But does this fee mean there will not be a winger transfer? Or was that never the case? |

The club is very tight-lipped about any transfers until they are confirmed, so any rumours would typically come from people surrounding the club that we would buy or loan a player from.
There is no doubt that we have a shortage of healthy wingers. Rafik was sent back to Italy and Samuel won't be seen on the pitch until very late in the season. Levi is young and unfinished - while showing some promising progress with the playing time he's had lately. Dølle and Helland have a pretty nasty injury record, and there are doubts that either of them can sustain play at a high level for an entire season. While Helland had a good cross on our goal at Celtic last week, he is rarely an offensive threat at this level, and he is not great at defensive pressure. You might have seen a lot of debate lately about old master Eggen calling out Helland and Bendtner, and saying playing with them is like playing with 9 players, as so much of our style is originally based on pressuring the opponent into making mistakes and rash decisions.
So in my opinion, if we're going to be a tad hopeful here and go for gold in the domestic league, a deep run in the cup tournament as well as getting into the group stages of the Europa League, we will NEED at least another high quality winger. A loan until the end of the season, perhaps with the option to buy could make sense.
Relying on what we have will almost certainly mean playing non-wingers in that position, and that really is not a benefit to the team as a whole. With a striker like Bendtner who can score a lot if he gets the ball in dangerous positions, we need people who know how to do the wing thing. If we start putting our midfielders on wing and our defenders on midfield... well.. that really isn't what we call "godfoten" I guess. I have no idea how to translate that into something that would make sense. It is based on a book and a theory by master Eggen on how to get the best team by using the capabilities of each player in the best possible way. Literally translates to "The Good Foot" but even typing it out in english makes me cringe. _________________ Rosenborg for alltid - uansett! | Troillprat.no |
