På et eller annet tidspunkt kommer dette til å ende med en kamp/krig mellom klubbene og UEFA/FIFA om tilgang til spillerne.

Beste for fotballen hadde vært at det kom et ordentlig brudd fra klubbene med FIFA og UEFA og at de to gjennområtne organisasjonen kan få dø og vi kan få noe annet istedenfor.

SonntagsBlick skriver om hur Infantino höll möten med förre chefsåklagaren Michael Lauber (som skulle utreda Fifas relationer till Qatar) i ett hotell som ägdes av Qatar, han flög dit med privatplan som ägdes av emiratet.

Han brydde sig inte.

Och någonstans är det väl enkelt att förstå. På samma sätt som det är enkelt att förstå klubbpresidenterna som försökte sjösätta en europeisk superliga för ett år sedan. De hade skrivit kontrakt med skurkstater, klippt banden till gräsrötterna, petat i nästa neoliberala växel i fotbollskapitalismen och tagit livet av tävlingsbalansen. De trodde att de kunde bilda en superliga eftersom de redan gjort det. Alla visste ju att de var nakna, de jublade ändå – tills några plötsligt drog sin gräns och protesterade.

Finns riktigt fina skolor också...

Var går gränsen för Fifa? Ingen vet, mer än att den uppenbarligen inte är nådd riktigt än.

Sponsorerna sponsrar Qatar-VM, Qatar sponsrar flera av världens största klubbar, landslagen slåss för att få en plats i Qatar, och tydligen har de riktigt fina skolor där också.

Gianni Infantino bor i Qatar, det är inte det som är nyheten. Fifa bryr sig inte, kejsaren står där naken, och i år ska VM spelas där inför hela världens tindrande ögon.

Frågan som borde ställas är varför inte alla andra bryr sig mer än att de låter det hända.

UEFA and its 55 member associations stand as one. We unanimously and unequivocally reject FIFA’s proposal to transfer ownership interests in the World Cup and other FIFA competitions to private investors.

The World Cup cannot be treated as an investment product. It is one of football’s greatest sporting legacies. It has been built over generations by players, national teams and supporters across every continent. No part of it should ever be surrendered to private investors. The World Cup is not for sale.

As a result of today’s discussion, no UEFA national teams will participate in any FIFA competition for so long as these proposals remain alive, unless this proposal has been abandoned in its entirety and binding assurances have been given that FIFA will never again open its governance or competitions to private ownership.

Dersom Fifa ikke skrinlegger de omstridte VM-planene, åpner Uefa for å arrangere EM annethvert år.

Den første ekstra EM-turneringen kan bli arrangert i Portugal og Spania i 2030.

De to landene er i dag medarrangører av VM samme år. Dersom Uefa-planen blir gjennomført og de europeiske landslagene boikotter Fifa-turneringen, vil Marokko i praksis bli stående alene som VM-arrangør.

UEFA welcomes FIFA’s decision to withdraw its plan to sell a stake in its competitions – including the World Cup – into private hands.

The proposal was unanimously rejected by UEFA’s national associations and by many other federations and confederations of all sizes around the world, whose job it is to protect football.

UEFA will work with its associations and in close cooperation with other confederations to reflect on how this happened and devise a plan to make sure that it cannot occur again. That review should be thorough and fundamental. No option should be off the table. The current FIFA leadership has not only lost UEFA’s confidence but also that of many other members of the football family.
