Ardian Gashi to Rosenborg?
By Thomas Myren, 29 December 2004, 00:31
Norwegian international Ardian Gashi may be on his way to Rosenborg.
According to Norwegian TV2, Rosenborg have contacted the player's club Vålerenga. VIF bought U21 national team captain, Christian Grindheim, from FK Haugesund today, and they are therefore capable of selling one of the existing central midfielders in their squad.
The 23-year-old from Kyrksæterøra, a small town in Trøndelag (the Greater Trondheim area), has already said no to RBK twice in his career. First time when he played for local side KIL/Hemne, and then last winter as Vålerenga player. He rejected the Rosenborg offers because he feared he would end up as a substitute at Lerkendal.
But he never has shut the door completely for his childhood favourite club. In January Gashi said this:
"When the time is there and I'm good enough, I'll maybe join Rosenborg. As a Trønder (person from Trøndelag) I of course want to play for Rosenborg. Doesn't every Trønder want that?"
Now we'll have to see if this is the time...
